Not sure if it was a sellout. Tickets were still available earlier in the day. It was close. Around 200 people.

1. Rich Swann beat “The Drifter” Elias Samson. A good opener. Swann got a good pop after interrupting Samson’s song where he drew some boos mispronouncing the town’s name and calling us ugly. Swann wins with a roll up.

2. Nia Jax beat Carmella. A couple of sloppy spots. Jax won with a big leg drop.

3. Tye Dillinger beat Riddick Moss. Solid, nothing special. The Perfect 10 wins with his finisher.

Aliyah came out to put over Bayley vs Asuka at Takeover.

4. Bayley beat Emma to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. Bayley is crazy over! Good match. Bayley wins with Bayley to Belly. Bayley is going to be huge one day. People love her, young and old, but especially the kids. I swear she stopped and signed autographs or took pictures with every kid in the crowd and she looked like she was having a blast doing it. Gotta love Bayley. I’m a 37 year old married man and I was wearing a hugger shirt.

5. Sami Zayn beat Manny Andrade (a/k/a La Sombre). Very, very good match. Fast pace, even got a “this is awesome” chant. Good chemistry between the two. Sami wins with the Helluva Kick. He put over Manny to the crowd after. Well deserved applause for Manny.

6. American Alpha beat The Revival by DQ in an NXT Tag Team Championship match. AA wins via DQ due to Dash Wilder pulling the referee out of the ring after AA’s finish. Another very good match. American Alpha is super over.

7. Finn Balor beat Samoa Joe vs Baron Corbin in Triple Threat to retain the NXT Championship. Kind of a quick match but very fast paced with nonstop action. Balor won after a Coup de Grace onto Corbin, who was trapped in Samoa Joe’s rear naked choke.

After the match Finn grabbed a mic and puts over Sami Zayn saying it’s Sami’s last NXT show in Florida. Balor asked Sami to come out, and Sami obliged. Sami talked about how hard everyone works whether they are in a small town like Wauchula in front of 200 people, or in Dallas in front of thousands. He wasn’t exaggerating, everyone busted their butt for sure. He thanked everyone for their support and put over the locker room who at this point had come out to the stage to give him a standing ovation. They then came into the ring to celebrate and lift Sami up on their shoulders to the cheers of the appreciative crowd. It was definitely a great moment to be a part of.

Editor’s Note: Zayn is still advertised for live events this week in Florida.
