Dec 27, 2015 - by Atlee Greene

WWE NXT 12/23/15 | SSE Arena Wembley | London, England

– Fatal Four Way Tag Team Match – Chad Gable & Jason Jordan defeated The Vaudevillians, Blake & Murphy, and The Hype Bros:

The Vaudevillians were dressed as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson while Blake, Murphy, and Alexa Bliss donned Freddy Krueger attire while Jordan and Gable got the biggest reaction of the four teams.

Chad Gable and Aiden English kicked things off. Simon Gotch tags in quickly where he and Gable have some creative chain wrestling exchanges with Gable getting the better of it. Mojo Rawley tags himself in at the expense of Gable, which drew the ire of the Wembley audience.

All four teams were given time to shine, but it didn’t matter. Gable and Jordan could do wrong here as everything they did was met with a thunderous applause while anything done against them was unanimously booed.

Gable and Blake worked well together with Gable hitting a nice over the shoulder arm drag, picture perfect dropkick and a nice Von Erich style flying headscissors. Blake and Murphy were the team to cut off Gable and get the heat on him with the Bros and Vaudevillians getting in on the action.

Blake & Murphy tried to keep the tags to themselves until Gable reversed a belly to back suplex attempt and made the hot tag to Jodran. Gable gets so much of the attention that is to forget how effortlessly athletic Jodan is as he hit a couple of his own standing drop kicks.

Jodran dished out his own version of Suplex City with a ridiculously high overhead belly to belly suplex on Blake. Gotch received a head and arm overhead suplex. English was thrown for a side suplex and Blake got caught coming off the top for a T-Bone suplex.

After a couple of dives over the top rope to the floor, Jodran threw Murphy out of the ring and onto his opponents with an overhead belly to belly suplex. Jodan speared Blake in his corner, tagged Gable, and they hit their double team belly to back suplex finisher for the 1,2,3.

– Footage was shown of Emma being checked on by a trainer after her match with Auska at TakeOver. Dana Brooke talks about what she would do if Auska was in front of her. Auska appears, Brooke is scared, and Auska leaves while smiling at her handiwork. Brooke is even more upset that she got punked and vows revenge on Auska.

– Tye Dillinger feels that Sami Zayn’s return will be ruined by the perfect 10.

– Baron Corbin talked about his win over Apollo Crews at TakeOver and declared himself the number one contender for the NXT title. Corbin goes on to call himself the uncrowned champion and told the champ to watch his back.

– Elias Sampson defeated Bull Dempsey via pinfall.

This served as the debut of Elias Sampson; drifter and guitar player as he carried a big ol’ acoustic to the ring. Dempsey looked to ruin Sampson’s coming out party with some shoulder tackles and clotheslines. Sampson catches Dempsey coming off the ropes with a flying knee to the jaw and followed it up with an elbow drop off the top rope for the win.

Post-match Sampson played his guitar to his entrance music. The London crowd didn’t take to this gimmick. It wasn’t bad, just a little too subdued for a pro wrestling presentation.

– Dash & Dawson talk about their tag team title defense at TakeOver. They gave Enzo and Cass credit and declared themselves the best tag team on the planet.

– Sami Zayn defeated Tye Dillinger

This episode was built around the return of Sami Zayn and the London audience went crazy at the first decibel of his entrance music. Zayne was overwhelmed by the “Welcome Back” chants. Dillinger out wrestled Zayn early on. Zayne favored his shoulder a little bit.

Dillinger out wrestled Zayn again, hit a snapmare, cartwheeled, and flashed the perfect ten sign in the face of Zayn. Zayn found his rhythm with three deep arm drags that sent Dillinger out of the ring. Dillinger pulls Zayn out of the ring and sends him into the post shoulder first.

Dillinger kept stomping, and pulling on the repaired shoulder of Zayn. Dillinger applied a shoulder lock that kept Zayn grounded. Zayne tried to forearm his way out, but Dillinger held on to the arm and wouldn’t let go as he continued his attack on the left shoulder.

Zayn took advantage of Dillinger yelling at the fans and connected with two clotheslines. Zyan got a boot to the mouth while going for a back body drop, but fired back with another clothesline. Zayn hit a fisherman’s suplex and followed it with a suicide dive over the top rope.

Zayn threw Dillinger back in the ring, ducked a clothesline and hit the Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall that surprised some in the crowd. Dillinger blocked a suplex attempt, sent Zayne into the corner where he stopped short of hitting the referee, and rolled him while holding the tights for two.

Dillinger immediately followed up with a superkick for a close near fall of his own. Zayn stumbled to the corner, Dillinger charged in, Zayn caught him to deliver an exploder suplex into the turnbuckle and followed up with the Helluva Kick for the 1,2,3.

Post-Match: “Welcome Back” chants greet Zayn in victory. Zayn grabed the microphone, yells “I’M BACK” and said he needed to get something off his chest.

Zayn said he feels that the trend of his career is every time he reaches a dream come true, it quickly turns into a nightmare. Winning the NXT title and wrestling John Cena on Raw in his hometown was listed as examples.

Zayn called his return match a dream and that the trend if broken, which prompted a “You Deserve It” chant. Zayn promised that more good things are in store for himself and NXT in 2016 and closed the show with “WE ARE NXT.”
