1987 – Jim Crockett Promotions purchased Bill Watts’ Universal Wrestling Federation

2008 – Suwama won the AJPW Champion’s Carnival, defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi in the final

2009 – The cause of death in the case of Andrew “Test” Martin was ruled as an accidental overdose via oxycodone intoxication

2010 – Women’s comedy promotion Wrestlicious, which aired on MavTV in the United States & Bite TV in Canada, went on “hiatus” from airing original TV episodes.  To date, it has yet to return

2011 – Kurt Angle plead guilty to a charge of reckless driving for the incident that occurred on the 3/25 near Thompson, ND where Angle’s SUV was found stopped in the median of Interstate 29


In 2001, The WWF held a live Monday Night Raw at the FleetCenter in Boston, Massachusetts. This edition of RAW included the segment where Linda McMahon told Vince McMahon that she wanted a divorce:

– The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray, D-Von & Spike) defeated X-Factor (Albert, Justin Credible, & X-Pac)
– Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit fought to a no contest after both men attacked referee William Regal
– Val Venis (with Bull Buchanan, The Goodfather, & Steven Richards) defeated Raven
– Team Xtreme (Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, & Lita) defeated WWF Champion Steve Austin, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, & WWF Intercontinental Champion Triple H

In 2004, IWA Mid-South held its 4th-annual April Bloodshowers event at the Community Center Gym in Oolitic, Indiana:

– Michael Shane defeated Adam Flash & Nate Webb in a 3-way match
– MsChif defeated Daizee Haze
– Jimmy Jacobs (with Becky Bayless) defeated Roderick Strong
– Delirious defeated Nigel McGuinness
– IWA Mid-South Light Heavyweight Champion Matt Sydal defeated Emil Sitoci to retain the title.
– In a 30-minute Iron Man match, B.J. Whitmer (with Jim Fannin) defeated IWA Mid-South Heavyweight Champion Jerry Lynn, 2-1, to win the title
– Arik Cannon defeated Chad Collyer
– Mark Wolf defeated Danny Daniels (with Jim Fannin)
– A.J. Styles defeated B-Boy
– JC Bailey & Necro Butcher defeated Corporal Robinson & The Wifebeater in a Fans Bring the Weapons match

Title Changes

1917 – Earl Caddock defeated Joe Stecher to win the World Heavyweight Title

1953 – Buddy Rogers defeated Antonio Rocca to win the Ohio version of the Boston AWA World Heavyweight Title in Cleveland, Ohio

1957 – Mike Clancy defeated Fred Blassie to win the vacant NWA Junior Heavyweight Title

1978 – Ric Flair defeated Mr Wrestling to win the NWA Mid-Atlantic United States Title

1988 – Carlos Colon defeated Hercules Ayala to win the WWC Universal Heavyweight Title in Caguas, Puerto Rico

1990 – Kenta Kobashi & Tiger Mask II defeated Doug Furnas & Dan Kroffat to win the AJPW All Asia Tag Team Titles

1993 – Brian Lee defeated Bobby Eaton to win the SMW Television Title

1994 – Debbie Combs was awarded the vacant USWA Women’s Title

2001 – Kazuyuji Fujita defeated Scott Norton to win the IWGP Heavyweight Title

2003 – Doug Basham defeated Nick Dinsmore to win the OVW Heavyweight Title in Louisville, Kentucky

2005 – Swi$$ Money Holding (Ares & Marc Roudin) defeated Michael Kovac & Eric Schwarz to win the German Stampede Wrestling Tag Team Title in Duisburg, Germany

2005 – Miss Natural defeated Josie to win the World League Wrestling Women’s Title in Concordia, Missouri
