Former ECW wrestler Nova remembers Sean O’Haire

I can’t believe the news about Sean O Haire. I met Sean at UPW back in early 2000’s and his first act was to literally tackle me when he found out I was the guy from ECW that wore the “venom” outfit. I remember when he couldn’t believe I had a twin brother during his encounter with Donnie B , who he worked with in Pittsburgh with Jackie and Thomas. This included a phone call from Donnie B to me, to prove it was a fact but he still didn’t believe it and thought he was being pranked. You had to be there!

We became pretty good friends in OVW where Sean was nicknamed “the Crazy Man” by all of us who trained with him because you never knew what he was going to do next. Just ask Johnny Jeter, Kris Pavone, Matt Morgan, Nick U-Gene Dinsmore, Rob Conway , Nikita Nicole LeFleur or so many others that were there at that time and they could tell you Sean was a great guy who would have given you the shirt off his back if you needed it. To this day I still think he had the coolest look of any wrestler I had ever seen. I wrestled Sean probably 50 times in OVW. In fact, he was my first match there (house show) and I was his last match at OVW before he was released from his WWE contract.

I last saw Sean a few years back at Mohegan Sun, when I went to a MMA event as a guest of Rick Bassman. The event was a disaster but I really went just to see Sean and Rick. When I saw Sean that day, he was in great spirits and couldn’t have been happier to see me. I felt the same way. Sean spent the last few years with some ups and downs like we all do, but I hope he is finally at peace. He gave all of us that knew him some great memories and fun times. Rest in Peace my friend. You were the man…but I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know…..

Your friend.
