Stephanie McMahon and John Cena attending the SWSX convention in Austin, TX on Sunday and discussed WWE’s use of social media.

Stephanie claimed that they have increased revenue 25% due to social media growth. Before social media they grossed $477 million. Two years later they are at $484 million and they increased their revenue from television contracts more than that $7 million figure over the two years.

They did push there would be a new platform for distribution of WrestleMania announced next week.

How important is social to WWE? Every business department reports weekly on how they used social to drive the business.

Stephanie McMahon stated that WWE has hundreds of digital employees.

Stephanie McMahon is using social media to promote how wrestlers are doing charitable events in places like Rwanda.

WWE’s posts were seen 5.4 billion times in 2012 on Facebook alone.

WWE had 1.5 billion YouTube views last year.

Cena ended the panel reciting Shakespeare to describe Wrestlemania.
