Al Mandell passes away

Got the sad news tonight about Al Mandell, who passed away on December 26th of natural causes at the age of 92 in his Charlotte, NC home. Al had been in the wrestling business for more than 70 years and was the person who convinced me to join the Cauliflower Alley Club so many years ago. When I lived in Charlotte we would speak on the phone at least once a week and we met up every so often for lunch or coffee. I last spoke with him about a year ago. RIP Al, as you would say, you were a real mensch!
