10/18/12 Impact Wrestling Live Coverage

Impact opens this week with a video review of Bound for Glory. We then see Aces and 8s entering the Impact Zone.

Aces and 8s members assemble in the ring and Devon is introduced. He tells the crowd to “Shut the hell up,” and they chant “You sold out!” He said Aces and 8s have always had his back, even when he was down, unlike everyone else in the Impact Zone. He thanks his fellow Aces and 8s members and says without them, he wouldn’t be standing in the ring. He says Aces and 8s will destroy TNA. Devon brings up the split of he and Ray from two years ago and says, “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.” Sting’s music hits and he comes out with some of the TNA wrestlers from the back, like Angle, Joe, Ray, Styles, among others and a huge brawl breaks out in and around the ring. Hulk Hogan’s music hits and he comes out with a baseball bat and we go to a commercial.

We’re back and Hogan calls Aces and 8s out as the TNA wrestlers stand tall in the ring. Hogan said Aces and 8s earned full access into the Impact Zone, but that means they have to fight. Sting says he wants to fight Devon tonight, but so does Bully Ray. Hogan tells Devon to fight Sting or get out as Ray complains to Hogan. Devon says it’s on. A “We Want Bully” chant breaks out amongst the crowd.

We are shown a video review of that Austin Aries vs. Jeff Hardy match from Bound for Glory and see that Jeff Hardy will have a celebration later tonight. We see Austin Aries backstage and he says he will be joining the festivities.

We’re back and Hogan is talking to Mr. Anderson. He says next week is Championship Thursday and Hardy will defend the title. He makes Anderson one of the potential challengers, along with James Storm. Joseph Park walks in and wants to talk and Hogan kicks everyone except Park out of his office.

Match #1: TNA Television Championship Match: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Robbie E (w/Robbie T)
Joe takes Robbie into the corner and spin kicks him in the head and then drops him with a headbutt. Joe drops a knee and gets a two count. Joe dominates the match and takes Robbie to the corner and set him up for the Muscle Buster, but Robbie T grabs Joe’s foot. Robbie E slaps Joe, with no affect. Joe comes back and kicks Robbie E in the midsection and takes him to the corner and finally hits the Muscle Buster. Joe locks on the Koquina Clutch and Robbie E taps. Winner and still TNA Television Champion: Samoa Joe. After the match, Robbie T tries to make the save, but Joe applies the clutch to him as well.

We go backstage and see Jesse Godderz and Tara in a photoshoot. Tara says they are the hottest couple on the planet and they make out before we see that Tara will go one-on-one with ODB next.

Match #2: ODB vs. Tara (w/Jesse Godderz)
ODB slaps Tara and drops her with a forearm shiver. ODB picks Tara up and delivers a big power slam. ODB kisses Jesse and Tara gets pissed and beats down ODB. Tara keeps ODB grounded before slamming her on the mat again. Jesse and Tara kiss again as ODB drinks from her flask. ODB spits in Jesse’s face and slams Tara down for the pin fall. Winner: ODB.

We see A.J. Styles and Kurt Angle talking backstage. Styles says he wants to be the World Heavyweight Champion, just like Angle does. Styles says he’ll see Kurt out there, and Kurt says yes he will.

We’re back and we see Aces and 8s waiting outside for the fight between Devon and Sting later tonight. We see a video review of the triple threat match for the Tag Team Championships from Bound for Glory.

Match #3: Chavo Guerrero, Jr. and Hernandez vs. Gunner and Kid Kash
Guerrero and Hernandez dominate the early part of the match. Hernandez tags in Guerrero, but he gets double-teamed by Kash and Gunner. Kash and Gunner work over Guerrero in their corner and Kash stomps away on him. Guerrero tries to fight back, but Kash stays on the upper hand until Guerrero hits an Enziguri. Guerrero tags in Hernandez, who shoulder blocks Kash and then takes him down with a double sledge. Hernandez tags in Guerrero, who hits the splash on Kash for the pin fall. Winners: Chavo Guerrero, Jr. and Hernandez.

We see Jeff Hardy walking to the ring for his celebration, which will take place after the commercial break.

We’re back and Bully Ray bursts into Hogan’s office. He says he wants Hogan to take Sting out of the match against Devon tonight because he wants to beat the answers out of his brother. Hogan says Ray is one of four men to choose from for the title shot next week and Ray storms off. Hogan tells Sting to fix it.

We see another review of Jeff Hardy winning the title at Bound for Glory before Hardy makes his way out to the ring. He says it feels good to be back in the Impact Zone. He thanks the Creatures for being with him through thick and thin. Austin Aries comes out and brings Jeff some balloons, but lets them float to the rafters. Aries tries to hand Jeff some cookies, but Jeff slaps them away. Aries says the title on Jeff’s shoulder isn’t his, as Jeff has his specially-made belt. Aries says he can invoke his rematch clause whenever he wants to, but he is going to wait until Jeff crumbles under the pressure. Jeff tells Aries to look at the face he can’t beat. Aries spits on the title and they brawl before Aries escapes the ring.

We see Christopher Daniels walking backstage and drinking an apple-tini. Daniels says he will beat Styles and Angle later tonight.

Match #4: Three-Way Match: A.J. Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Kurt Angle
The match starts off with Angle and Styles double-teaming Daniels for a bit before they turn their attention on each other. Angle suplexes Styles and Daniels before Styles connects with a kick to Angle’s head. Styles goes for the Style’s Clash, but Angle rolls through and applies the Ankle Lock. Daniels gets back into the ring and clocks Angle with a right hand. Daniels tosses Angle shoulder-first into the ring post and takes Styles down for a one count. Daniels pounds away on Styles with right after right. Daniels elbows Styles in the back of the head and slams him down for a two count. Daniels bows to the crowd and kicks Angle to the floor. Daniels applies a submission on Styles, but Styles fights out and Angle takes Daniels down. Styles takes Angle into the corner and takes Daniels down and then hits a flying forearm on Angle for a two count. Daniels comes back and slams Styles down for a two count. Angle hits a suplex on Daniels and goes to clothesline Styles, but Styles connects with the Pele and all three men are down. Styles elevates Daniels over the top rope to the floor and hits a springboard moonsault on Daniels out on the floor. Styles tosses Daniels back into the ring, but Angle kicks Daniels into Styles, which knocks him on the floor. Angle hits the Angle Slam on Daniels for the pin fall. Winner: Kurt Angle. After the match, Angle extends his hand to Styles for a handshake, but Styles refuses and walks up the ramp.

We look back at Bound for Glory, where Matt Morgan helped Joey Ryan defeat Al Snow. We go backstage, where Ryan introduces himself to Hulk Hogan. Hogan asks Morgan what’s up with him and why he did what he did. Morgan says it goes back to when he came to TNA, when he promised to make Matt Morgan a household name. Hogan says he has been on Team Morgan since day one and has always defended him. Morgan says Hogan can take everything said about him and shove them up his ass as he shoves Hogan against a wall. Morgan and Ryan walk away and Hogan smirks and laughs.

We see James Storm walking backstage as we go to a commercial.

We’re back and James Storm says he set out to complete a bucket list of ten things to to. Number 10 was to kick the crap out of Bobby Roode, and says he did that. He says number one is to win back the World Heavyweight Championship. Bobby Roode comes out to the ring and grabs a microphone. Roode says he and Storm had one of the bloodiest battles in history and Storm tells him to quit kissing his ass. Roode says he’s not and that Storm should be kissing his eyes, because beating Bobby Roode skyrocketed him to the top. Roode says he always carried Storm, and was only World Champion because he gave Storm his title shot. Roode says that Storm knows that Roode will always be the better man. Storm says nope and lays Roode out with the Superkick.

We see Devon warming up backstage and see Sting walking backstage as we go to a commercial.

We’re back and we see highlights of Sting’s Hall of Fame induction from this past weekend.

Match #5: Devon vs. Sting
Devon and Sting exchange blows until Sting takes Devon down with a clothesline. Sting elevates Devon and drops him on the mat. Sting goes for the Stinger Splash, but Devon moves, only to get clotheslined by Sting again. Sting tosses Devon into the corner, and then takes him to the outside and down to the floor as we go to a commercial.

We’re back and Devon is in control. He goes to the outside and drives his elbow into Sting’s chest. Devon gets back into the ring and stomps away on Sting. Devon takes Sting into the corner and pounds away on his again and drops him to the mat. Devon hits the diving headbutt, but only gets a two count on the pin fall attempt. Devon locks in a headlock in the middle of the ring, but Sting fights out and gets control for a second, but Devon takes him right back down to the mat. Devon hits a jaw breaker and drops Sting with a right hand. Devon goes to the middle rope and goes for the diving headbutt again, but Sting moves and takes Devon down with a few strikes to the chest. Sting hits the Stinger Splash and kicks Devon in the back before dropping him with the Scorpion Death Drop. Sting goes for the Scorpion Death Lock and he locks it in before Aces and 8s come to the ring and gang attack Sting, causing the disqualification. Winner by disqualification: Sting. After the match, the TNA locker room begins to empty to help Sting and the TNA wrestlers and Aces and 8s brawl in the ring for the second time tonight. Aces and 8s run away when Bully Ray charges the ring with a baseball bat as Impact Wrestling comes to a close.
