Monday Night Raw 9/17/12

Bridgeport, C T

CM Punk’s music hits to start the show but only Paul Heyman is making his way to the ring. Heyman says that last night, at NOC, he got to witness history because he saw CM Punk successfully defend the WWE title against John Cena. He says he knows there is a lot of controversy and in the interest clarity, he wants referee Chad Patton to come to the ring and defend his decision from last night.

Heyman has Patton to look at a photo on the titan tron showing all four shoulders on the mat as the three count was made. Heyman ask’s if Patton made the right decision and Patton says “Yes I did.

Heyman agrees and he says he and CM Punk admire him for standing by his decision. Heyman says he found footage taken by a fan at ringside that was posted on You Tube and taken down earlier today. He blames Cena for having it taken down. Heyman shows the footage that looks like it was recorded with a cell phone in the front row and it also shows the finish with all four shoulders to the mat. Heyman tells all the fans to respect the 303rd day of CM Punk’s WWE title reign and John Cena’s music hits and he is on his way to the ring.

Paul Heyman tries to get the first word in but Cena tells him to shut up and says Chad Patton made the right call last night. He also says he can barely turn on his cell phone never mind take down a You Tube video. He feels Patton made the right decision but the finality of the decision was like ending the Superbowl in a tie. Cena ask’s Heyman if CM Punk earned anyone’s respect by retaining the title in a tie. Heyman says in one word “Yes” and small YES chant breaks out.

Cena says he and Heyman have different definitions of respect. He says respect isn’t earned by a shadow of a doubt by winning with a tie but leaving no doubt by beating anyone on any given night. Again, he says Patton made the right call but he wants to find out who the winner is and wants the rematch tonight.

Heyman says CM Punk will tell Cena what he thinks of his challenge when gets to the building. Heyman says hearing the answer from him is as good as hearing it from CM Punk because he is the voice of the voice of the voiceless.

Alberto Del Rio comes out to the ramp with microphone in hand and tells Cena to stop crying about last night. Del Rio says he, on the other hand, never had a fair shot at the WHC because of Booker T’s decision to bring back the Brogue Kick. He says if anyone deserves a rematch, it’s him.

AJ skips to the ring and says they both deserve a second chance and she is going to combine both main events form last night into a super main event. The match is Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk vs. John Cena and Sheamus. She says the winner of this match will go a long way to determine who gets a rematch and who will be in it. Heyman tries to talk AJ out of the match but she simply skips away as he is not happy with her decision.
