John Cena on three million Fruity Pebbles cereal boxes

Jan 10, 2012 - by Steve Gerweck

John Cena’s face will be splashed on around 3 million Fruity Pebbles boxes
in a promotion leading up to WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami, Florida,
according to CNBC’s Darren Rovell. The former WWE champion accepted the
endorsement deal with the cereal company and is expected to make some good
money out of the deal. On Twitter, The Rock – who started the whole
Cena-Pebbles thing – joked that he expected a royalty check in the mail for
his part. Post – the makers of Fruity Pebbles – is running a sweepstakes
where the winner will get to meet John Cena in person at a live WWE event.
“It is truly an honor to team up with Post Fruity Pebbles. After all, who
doesn’t dream of being on a cereal box one day? I am proud that the
partnership also spreads awareness about the life-changing wishes granted by
the Make-A-Wish Foundation and ‘be a STAR’s’ anti-bullying message of
showing tolerance and respect,” Cena said today in a press release issued by
Post. The press release also notes that the whole Cena/Fruity Pebbles
comparison started thanks to the Rock and the power of social media.
