1/24/11 Raw coverage

– Natalya vs Melina for the Divas Title is announced for later tonight.

– Edge is out. He said he doesn’t feel like waiting and wants Miz now. The Mystery GM chimes in and says that match will happen later tonight but that Edge will have an over the top rope exhibition right now and the person who eliminates Edge will get the 40th spot in the Royal Rumble.

(1) Over the top Rope Challenge: Edge vs Jack Swagger, Tyson Kidd and Drew McIntyre. Edge eliminates all three so no one gets the 40th spot.

– Edge asks the fans is they want to see him smash the GM’s computer again. Michael Cole takes the laptop and try’s to protect it. Edge goes to attack Cole but Nexus is out. Punk talks about Mason Ryan joining Nexus last week but didn’t mention what name he is going by. Edge seems to have left. Punk talks about the Rumble on Sunday and says the new Nexus will become the most powerful group in WWE history. The Corre is out led by Wade Barrett. Wade says that they are nothing like Nexus as Corre is not about one man it is about all of them. Zeke takes the mic and says they were going to make sure they eliminate Punk on Sunday. The mystery GM chimes in and announces Punk vs Barrett for later in the show and which ever man loses will see themselves and there entire group out of the Rumble on Sunday. Also John Cena will be the guest referee.

(2) Mark Henry & John Morrison vs King Sheamus & Alberto Del Rio. Michael Tarver is backstage watching the match on a monitor. Del Rio uses the cross am breaker to submit Henry for the win.

(3) Divas Title Match: Melina vs Natalya (c). Natalya wins with the Sharpshooter.

– LayCool are out to rip on Natalya. They say on Sunday that there are going to invoke their rematch clause for the Divas title but didn’t say which one of them will be facing Natalya.

– Backstage John Cena is interviewed by Josh Matthews. He talks about Barrett vs Punk and the Rumble on Sunday. Miz and Riley walk in Cena trashes them saying they smell like poop and need a shower.

(4) Edge vs The Miz. Dolph Ziggler is out to do commentary. Dolph trips Edge and the referee calls for the bell so he wins on a DQ. Dolph jumps Edge but Orton is in to make the save. Orton lays out Dolph and Riley but Miz runs away.

(5) The Bellas & Daniel Bryan vs Ted Dibiase, Maryse and Alicia Fox. Maryse rolls up one of the Bella Twins and pins them when they are distracted by the other one kissing Bryan.

– Backstage the Bella Twins walk in on Daniel Bryan kissing Gail Kim. He says they have been going out for 6 months. One of the Bell Twins gets in Gail’s face and they go at it. The other one joins in until Bryan breaks it up.

(6) Vladimir Kozlov & Santino Marella vs Mike McGillicutty & Husky Harris. Nexus wins.

(7) CM Punk vs Wade Barrett with John Cena as guest referee. Cena attacks both Punk and Barrett and neither man can fight back. Wade has a pin but Cena decides to sign autographs at ringside. Cena rules the match a double dq due to excessive use of profanity.

– The GM chimes in a calls that an abuse of power and says both Nexus and Corre will be in the Rumble on Sunday. He then order Cena to tell both men he is sorry. Cena does so but then attacks them both. Nexus and Corre run down but wrestlers from both Raw and Smackdown make the save and they all go at it building up to the Rumble match on Sunday.
