Sep 25, 2010 - by Steve Gerweck

Former WWE and WCW Superstar Giant Gonzales passed away on September 22 at
the age of 44. The 7’7″ giant had a kidney problem which required the use of
a dialysis machine and was confined into in a wheelchair for the past few
years. Gonzales joined WCW in 1990 under the name of El Gigante and then
moved to the then WWF in 1993 where he was managed by Harvey Wippleman. The
only feud he was involved with was The Undertaker as Gonzales was released
towards the end of the same year. Prior to being involved in the wrestling
business, Jorge Gonzales played basketball in his home country of Argentina
before he was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the third round of the NBA
Draft in 1988.
