Match #1: Last Dance Challenge: Ernest “The Cat” Miller (with Sonny Oono) vs. Disco Inferno.
Well, the “Last Dance” stipulation was removed before the bout, according to Tony Schiavone. Back and forth match up, with Miller finally grabbing his ruby red slipper and clocked Disco to get the pin.

Winner: Ernest Miller.

Match #2: WCW World TV Title Match: Champion Rick Steiner vs. Van Hammer.
This one was just as great as the hype. Considering there was no hype hardly, that tells you how awful this match was. It only lasted about 3-4 minutes, with Rick pinning Hammer following the top rope bulldog.

Winner: WCW World TV Champion Rick Steiner

Match #3: WCW United States Title Match: “Nature Boy 2000” David Flair (with Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Asya, Torrie Wilson, and Charles Robinson) vs. Dean Malenko.
Much like the earlier match-up, this one was a classic — or something like that. Everyone interfered; Malenko at least bodyslammed Asya. The end came when the ref was out of it, and Charles Robinson slipped on a referee shirt; Ric Flair nailed Malenko with the US title belt, and David got the pin. The ironic thing is, when the belt touched Malenko’s head, that’s the closest it’s come in almost two years to being around the waist of a deserving champion. It’s a shame when Malenko, who has more in ring talent at this point in his career than all the other people at ringside COMBINED, still has to lay down for a 19 year old kid.

Winner: WCW United States Champion David Flair.

Match #4: Elimination Match: The West Texas Rednecks (Curt Hennig, Bobby Duncum, Jr., and Barry & Kendall Windham) vs. The No Limit Soldiers (WCW World Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio, Jr., Konnan, Swoll, and B.A.) (with Chase and 4 x 4).
Here’s your order of elimination: Swoll pinned Bobby Duncum, Jr. Curt Hennig pinned BA (Brad Armstrong, for those who don’t know). Konnan pinned Kendall Windham. Barry Windham and Konnan were both counted out. Rey Mysterio, Jr. pinned Hennig after Swoll tossed Rey on him. OK, this match was really bizarre. I am half way tempted to say Barry Windham may turn on the Rednecks, but WHY? This one was messed up.

Winners: Rey Mysterio Jr. & Swoll.

Match #5: Hardcore Junkyard Invitational, featuring: Hak (with Chastity), Public Enemy, Hugh Morrus, Steven Regal, Fit Finley, Jerry Flynn, Mikey Whipwreck, Silver King, and La Parka.
The object here is to beat up your opponent so bad, then climb up over the piles of trash and cars and over the fence to win. This reminded me a lot of the Blacktop Bully/Dustin Rhodes “King of the Road” match at Uncensored a few years ago. It sounds like it has the potential to be brutal. In a huge upset, Fit Finley wins.

Winner: Fit Finley.

Match #6: WCW World Tag Team Title Match: Champions The Triad (“Diamond Dallas Page, “Beast from the East” Bam Bam Bigelow, and Kanyon) vs. Saturn & “Canadian Crippler” Chris Benoit.
This one was pretty good actually, and considering three out of the five workers are good, that’s no shock. Back and forth action all the way through. By far, this is the match of the night. Bam Bam and DDP hit the Double Diamond Cutter on Saturn to get the win, and retain the belts.

Winners: WCW World Tag Team Champion The Triad

Match #7: 10 Round Boxing match: “Rowdy” Roddy Piper (with Ric Flair) vs. Buff Bagwell (with Judy Bagwell), Judge Mills Lane is the special referee.
This one was horrid. The two were blown up after the first round, gasping for air. Flair put something on Piper’s glove, and Roddy got it in Bagwell’s eyes. Mills Lane didn’t see this, somehow. Anyway, Bagwell came back strong on Piper in round 2. Round 3 began, and Judy Bagwell got involved. She bit Piper’s ear, then dumped his spit bucket on his head. Buff hit a Blockbuster and got the pin, which was counted by Lane, as Mrs. Bagwell held Flair back. There are so many things wrong with this match.

Winner: Buff Bagwell.

Match #8: WCW World Title Match: Champion Kevin Nash & Sting vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage & Sid (with Gorgeous George, Madusa, & Miss Madness ’99), whoever scores the pinfall becomes WCW Champion.
Sting took most of the punishment in this one, as Savage and Sid used high impacts moves and double teaming tactics to neuteralize the Stinger from “Big Sexy.” Nash got his shots in though. But in the end, it was Randy Savage getting the duke by pinning Nash, and becoming the new WCW champ.

Winner: And NEW WCW Champion, Randy Savage.
