– On WCW television, Sanders became the vocal leader of the Natural Born Thrillers.
– On October 2, 2000, Sanders defeated Elix Skipper in San Francisco, CA to capture the WCW Cruiserwight title.
– Sanders’s WCW contract was acquired by WWF as part of the purchase of WCW.
– Sanders became apart of the WWF’s developmental roster, and assigned to Les Thatcher’s Heartland Wrestling Association in Cincinnati, OH for development.
– While in HWA, Sanders tagged regularly with Lance Cade.
– On February 13, 2002, Sanders and Cade defeated Val Venis and Steve Bradley for the HWA Tag Team title in Dayton, OH.
– Sanders and Cade vacated the HWA Tag Team title when the team split up.
– With no plans to call him up the main roster, WWE released Sanders.
– In late 2002, Sanders competed on the World Wrestling All-Stars (WWA) European tour.
