Biography

– Scarpa began his career working as Joe Scarpa for a variety of NWA affiliates
– On March 29, 1962, Scarpa & Don Curtis defeated The Von Brauners (Karl & Kurt) to win the NWA Florida Tag Team Titles
– On December 5, 1967, Scarpa defeated Johnny Valentine to win the NWA Florida Heavyweight Title
– On April 23, 1968, Scarpa & Jose Lothario defeated Bronko Lubich & Aldo Bogni to win the NWA Florida Tag Team Titles
– On July 30, Scarpa defeated The Great Malenko to win the NWA Florida Brass Knuckles Title
– On October 8, Scarpa & Jose Lothario defeated The Infernos (1 & 2) to regain the NWA Florida Tag Team Titles
– On April 23, 1969, Scarpa defeated The Great Malenko to regain the NWA Florida Brass Knuckles Title
– On September 19, Scarpa defeated Paul DeMarco to win the NWA Georgia Heavyweight Title
– On November 22, Scarpa defeated The Assassin #2 to win the vacant NWA Georgia Television Title

– In the summer of 1975, Strongbow left the WWWF but kept the gimmick as he moved into GCW. He would be back with the WWWF by May of 1976

– On the January 1983 house shows, The Strongbows defended their WWF Tag Team Titles against The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika)

– Scarpa’s health deteriorated after a fall at his home in 2011 and he would pass away on April 3 of the following year
