– Gagne wrestled his final match on June 29, 1986, working a six-man tag team match at an AWA event in Denver
– Gagne’s AWA promotion closed down due to financial issues in 1991
– Gagne was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2006
– Gagne suffered from Alzheimer’s disease in his later life and would pass away from complications of the illness on April 27, 2015
