What I Would Like to See Happen in Professional Wrestling

10. Bring back Sabu to ECW. Paul Heyman’s group has an impressive roster of young talent, however, lack wrestlers with name recognition and drawing power. Sabu’s talent currently is being wasted in the copycat promotion XPW.

9. Fire WCW lead announcer Tony Shiavone, its long over due. Replace him with TSN’s Michael Lansberg whom the WWF has considered employing as a commentator in the past. His program “Off The Record” often features wrestlers - and Lansberg has a strong knowledge of the business. The WCW broadcast booth lacks credibility.

8. Allow seasoned veteran Dean Malenko to book the WWF’s light heavyweight division. Believe it or not, Malenko is now 40, yet is still one of the top performers in his weight class. He has the knowledge to book a competitive and intriguing division.

7. Give the WCW title to Ric Flair. It is time to be fair to Flair. Another title reign for the “Nature Boy” could only improve the company’s ratings.

6. Remove Joel Gertner as an announcer and return him to the managerial ranks of ECW. Gertner has the ability to heat up the crowd, and could be used as a manager to counter Cyrus. He could help get over many of the younger wrestlers.

5. Debut Scott Vick. You may remember the young Mr. Vick as Sick Boy in WCW as part of Raven’s flock. He could be a big time player in the light heavyweight division. At one time, the WWF was considering debuting him as Chris Jericho’s “brother.” If the WWF is serious about introducing a relative of Jericho’s, I suggest Lenny Lane.

4. Fire Vince Russo. The head of WCW creative decided to book himself last week against Booker T, rather than evaluating a new WCW title contender. The new WCW booking committee should consist of head writer Terry Taylor, Steve Gerweck, Bubba the Bulldog, and Konnan. We could get that ship turned around if given the golden opportunity.

3. For WCW to sign a talent agreement with an independent promotion or promotions. The WWF sends young wrestlers to wrestling groups in Louisville and Memphis for development. A handful of wrestlers make it to the WWF, most will not. Without such an agreement, WCW is forced to debut green wrestlers clearly not ready for the “big time.”

2. Bring back Ryan Shamrock to the WWF. I have never considered her the most attractive woman in the business, but at one time she was red hot and appeared to be on course to becoming the WWF’s next Sable. She could be a steal for Paul Heyman, who knows how to utilize talent.

1. A Chris Beniot-Chris Jericho 60 minute Iron Man Match at Wrestlemania for the Intercontinental title. This would guarantee an awesome lead in match to the main event, The Rock vs. Steve Austin, plus evaluate the IC title. Their Summerslam best of three falls match was sensational, but far to short. Not to mention that wrestling fans don’t pop until the final fall.

Tidbits: Forbes magazine, in their listing of the top 400 richest Americans, includes Vince McMahon at 260. His total worth has been listed by the magazine at one billion, one hundred million … According to reports, Filthy Animal member Juvetund Guerrero has signed a new contract to remain in WCW … Steve Austin is expected to make his return to the ring at the October “No Mercy” PPV … When the AOL/Time Warner merger is completed, there is a possibility that WCW could be outright sold or for-closed.
