Biography
- Blackman won several weight-lifting awards, bench pressing 585 pounds.
- Blackman won a "strongest man" contest in Florida, and set an Eastern USA curling record.
- Blackman contracted malaria while wrestling in South Africa in 1989. He barely survived. Steve tried making comebacks in '91, '92, 'and '93, but the fatigue was too strong.
- In November 1997, Blackman made his debut in the WWF by jumped the guardrail as a planted fan, and helping Vader fend off a mauling from the Hart Foundation.
- Blackman replaced an injured Patriot (Del Wilkes) in the 1997 Survivor Series, competing for Team USA.
- Blackman remained undefeated for four months upon his WWF debut, until Jeff Jarrett scored a controversial pinfall over the "lethal weapon."
- Blackman formed a friendship with "The world's most dangerous man" Ken Shamrock, and they teamed up with Faarooq to defeat Rocky Maivia, D-Lo Brown, and Mark Henry at the 1998 Unforgiven.
- He also gained some revenge on Jarrett at "Unforgiven" by attacking Double J during a concert with country music star Sawyer Brown.
- Blackman came up short in an Intercontinental title match at "Capital Carnage" against Ken Shamrock when the Big Bossman interfered.
- Blackman defeated the late Owen Hart via count out at the 1998 "Rock Bottom" pay-per-view.
- Blackman scored a submission victory over Droz at 1999 "No Mercy."
- Blackman defeated Marc Mero in his opening round contest in the "Brawl for All" series. Due to an injury, Blackman had to drop out.
- Blackman was Vince McMahon's "suitable replacement" for the main event at "King of the Ring," however WWF commissioner Shawn Michaels nixed the plan. This plan established Blackman as a full-fledged heel.
- Ken Shamrock and Blackman feuded this summer resulting in an iron circle match at "Fully Loaded" and a Lion's den match at "Summerslam." Each time, Blackman came up short.
- Blackman, Gangrel, Val Venis, and Mark Henry defeated Davey Boy Smith and the Mean Street Posse at the 1999 Survivor Series.
- Blackman captured the Hardcore title on July 2, 2000, at a house show in Tampa, FL.
- At Summerslam 2000 in Raleigh, NC, Blackman regained the Hardcore title from Shane McMahon, who captured the title six days earlier on "Raw."
- On the September 11, 2000 edition of "Raw," Blackman successfully defended the Hardcore title against X-Pac.
- At Unforgiven, Blackman over came Al Snow, Test, Funaki, Saturn, and Crash Holly to retain the Hardcore title.
- At the Survivor Series in Tampa, FL, Blackman, Crash Holly, and Molly Holly defeated Trish Stratus and T&A (Test and Albert).
- In early 2001, Blackman tagged with Grand Master Sexay (Brian Lawler) after Scottie Too Hottie suffered an injury.
- Following an injury, Blackman was sent to Les Thatcher's HWA in Cincinnati.
