Biography

- On January 15, 1989, Smiley beat Bart Vale via submission at Budokan Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
- In January 1990, Smiley and Joe DeFuria defeated the Blackhearts for the IPWA (Independent Pro Wrestling Association) Tag Team title in Pompano, FL.
- South of the border, Smiley wrestled as Black Magic.
- As Black Magic, Smiley claimed the EMLL/CMLL Heavyweight title on November 20, 1992. Smiley won a tournament to capture the vacant title in Mexico City. He defeated Vampiro in the semi-finals.
- In 1995 and '96, Smiley spent time in ECW.
- Smiley captured the IPWA Southern title in November 1996 from Gator B. Long.
- In October 1997, Smiley arrived in WCW.
- At Starrcade '98 at the MCI Center in Washington, DC, Smiley won via submission over Prince Iaukea (The Artist).
- On the January 11, 1999 episode of "Nitro," Smiley tossed Chavo Guerrero Jr.'s stuffed horse Pepe into a wood-chipper.
- Smiley forced Guerrero Jr. to submit at the Souled Out '99 in Charleston, WV.
- Norman became a top contender for both the WCW Cruiserweight and Television titles.
- At the 1999 Mayhem PPV, Smiley defeated Brian Knobs for the WCW Hardcore title.
- Smiley successfully defended the Hardcore title against Meng at Starrcade '99 in Washington, D.C. "Fit" Finlay and Brian Knobs interfered in the match.
- At Uncensored 2000, Smiley and The Demon defeated XS (Lodi and Lenny Lane). After the match, Miss Hancock did her version of the Wiggle.
- Smiley's mystery partner at Slamboree 2000 in Kansas City, MO turned out to be Chris Jericho's former side kick Ralphus.
- On the August 14, 2000 episode of "Nitro," Smiley defeated Carl Oulette (who earlier was given the title by Lance Storm) for the Hardcore title. He reluctantly accepted the title belt.
- At the German only PPV "Millennium Final," Smiley beat David "Fit" Finley in a "Bavarian hardcore" match.
- In October 2001, Smiley embarked on a tour of Australia with such superstars as Jeff Jarrett, Jerry Lawler, and Bret Hart.
- At the October 26th World Wrestling All-Stars PPV taped in Sydney, Australia, Smiley downed Crowbar.
- On April 13, 2002 in Davie, FL, Smiley forced Billy Fives to tap out and claim the Future of Wrestling title.
- On December 26, 2002, Smiley, Perry Saturn and the Ultimo Dragon defeated Masaaki Mochizuki, Arakan, and Toru Owashi at the Korakuen Hall in Japan.
- Smiley had a brief stint with TNA in 2006.
