- The most electrifying man in sports entertainment is now the most
electrifying man on the box office chart, at least for this week. Dwayne
'The Rock' Johnson's new movie "Race to Witch Mountain" secured its first
place on the box office chart this weekend getting an estimated $25 million.
According to BoxOfficeMojo. com, the movie did $6,750,000 on Friday,
$11,025,000 on Saturday and $7,225,000 today. Last week's number one movie,
'Watchmen' dropped to second place. This opening is Johnson's second best as
the leading actor with 'The Scorpion King' still holding the top spot as his
biggest open with $36.1 million.
- In his latest blog update, Smackdown commentator Jim Ross said that Andrew
'Test' Martin participated in the WWE-funded rehab program which the company
offered to all past employees who have drug or alcohol addiction. Martin
checked in at the Hanley Center Rehabilitation facility in West Palm Beach,
FL., last August and successfully completed his program. WWE keeps in
contact regularly with everyone who took part in their rehab program by
calling them for check-ups and JR said that ironically Friday - the day he
was found dead - was his regularly scheduled "touching base" with WWE. When
WWE officials made the call his voice mail was already full.
- John Cena made a special appearance during the opening skit of yesterday's
Saturday Night Live on NBC which was hosted by Tracey Morgan. The skit
involved Morgan trying to enter the building to host the show but security
wasn't letting him in because they didn't recognized him. Eventually Morgan
punched his way in through all the security check points and Cena was
guarding the main door that leads to the studio. Cena ended up getting
punched after greeting Morgan nicely,
