- Bret Hart wrote about "The Wrestler". He said he liked the movie but was left disturbed by it. He thinks the movie portrays to the outside world what they generally think wrestlers go through:
"With this dark misinterpretation presented in such a plausible and dramatic way, many wrestlers who’ve sacrificed so much to entertain their fans—their bodies, their families—now feel embarrassed
by the film’s unbalanced portrayal in which there’s no respect for our art or our dignity. I’m uncomfortable that audiences will unconsciously assume every wrestling has-been comes to a tragic end."
- Former UFC fighter and later pro wrestler Kimo Leopoldo was arrested yesterday in Tustin, CA. He was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance; possession of
stolen property; and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. The stolen property was identified as a police uniform. Sgt. Jeff Blair of the Tustin police dept. said
two plain-clothes officers picked him up near a strip mall after they noticed him wearing the stolen uniform except he was wearing flip-flops and playing with a yo-yo. "The undercover
officers felt that was strange activity because we didn't have any notification of any outside police activity in the city," he said. Leopoldo was then taken into custody where he tested
positive for methamphetamine. He is being held on $20,000 bail in Orange County and will be arraigned on 2/18 at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
