- The movie 'The Wrestler' is now playing in 566 theaters, a jump from the
144 it was last week. With the expansion, the movie did $990,000 on Friday,
$1,635,000 on Saturday and $1,075,000 on Sunday sending the total gross
revenue to $9,512,000. The movie did not win any awards at yesterdays SAG
Awards show.
- Former TNA star Johnny Devine was backstage at the Royal Rumble as was Bob Orton Jr.
- WWE and Spanish telecommunications giant Telefónica have just launched the official WWE website in Spanish at www.WWE.es. "We’re delighted to partner with a company of the global stature of Telefónica. Delivering our premium
online content to our fans in their own language is one of the cornerstones of our international business strategy," said Andrew Whitaker, President of Europe, Middle East and Africa for WWE. The company recently launched a different version of their official website in Portuguese and Italian as well.
- The name of WWE's June PPV will be changed this year from "One Night Stand" to "Extreme Rules". This is being done because of WWE's recent switch to a PG rating.
- HDNet announced a long term partnership with Ring of Honor Wrestling.
