- Variety.com reported that WWE Films has named Steve Barnett as their new
Senior Vice President of Production and will be reporting directly to
Michael Lake, President of WWE Films. According to a new deal the company
signed with 20th Century Fox, WWE Films will be releasing one new theatrical
release and four direct-to-DVD projects every year.
- TNA Wrestling has announced a new deal with Joe Hands Promotions for
commercial distribution of TNA pay-per-views to air in bars, restaurants and
public places. The deal includes all twelve monthly shows starting with the
Lockdown PPV. "TNA's new partnership with Joe Hand will open a wider brand
social experience for fans by creating partnerships with commercial ventures
and creating new audience. This will help us continue to grow the TNA
brand," TNA senior vice president Brian Hughes said.
- The Yuke's, the parent company of New Japan Pro Wrestling, granted NJPW a 170 million yen ($1.7 million) loan. The loan will include the promotion making minor changes in how the business is run.
