- A new banner permanent banner hangs at the Continental Airlines Arena with the WWE logo as the company was recognized for bringing over one million fans to the place since they started performing at the venue in 1984. "WWE is the first family entertainment promoter that we have bestowed this honor to. Plus, it's great to give back to fans who have provided WWE and this arena with their patronage over the years," said Ron Vanderveen, Vice President and General Manager of Continental Airlines Arena. The arena hosted a total of 92 WWE events. WWE fan Thomas Mezzacappa was the lucky one millionth fan and he was given a signed WWE heavyweight title signed by John Cena and Randy Orton. "Right now, I'm just in complete shock. I never thought anything like this would ever happen to me," the lucky fan said. Yesterday's show was attended by a sold out crowd of more than 17,400.
