- Former WWE announcer Todd "Steve" Romero joined The CBS affiliate in Orlando, FL as its new weekend sports anchor.

- At Ohio Valley Wrestling's 6/1 show, ODB defeated Katie Lea to win women's title and Jay Bradley won three-way over Idol Stevens and Paul Birchall to win Birchall's OVW title.

- Sandy Barr, a fixture in Oregon wrestling, passed away from a heart attack. Following in their father's footsteps, Barr's sons Jesse (Jimmy Jack Funk) and Art also became professional wrestlers. Art Barr was a regular tag team partner with Eddy Guerrero in the early 90's, before Art passed away at the age of 28 in 1994. Barr was a wrestler, promoter and manager.

- Zach Arnold reported that Antonio Inoki's new promotion, the Inoki Genome Federation, is still pushing the idea of Kurt Angle squaring off against Brock Lesnar at the groups debut show on 6/29 at Ryoguku Kokugikan in Tokyo.

- Brock Lesnar defeated Min Soo Kim in 1:09 at K-1's Dynamite PPV staged at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
