Bloom is the son of Michael and Elaine Bloom ... High School:
Was a SuperPrep and Blue Chip All-American at Peabody High School,
where he played for Coach Ed Nizwantowski .. garned All-Conference,
Greater Boston All-Star, and All-State honors .. played in the Agganis
All-Star Game .. earned two letters in track and one in baseball ..
also earned three letters in basketball and was selected team MVP his
senior year ... 1990: Was redshirted his freshman year ...
1991: Had his first active season as a reserve offensive tackle
for the Panthers ... 1992: Earned his first Pitt letter as a
backup at right tackle ... 1993: Started all 11 games for the
Panthers at right tackle to earn his second letter .. helped anchor
Pitt's offensive line that paved the way for Curtis Martin's 1,000-yard
season ... 1994: Played opposite Reuben Brown at right tackle.
