Al Snow claims wrestling matches don’t draw BUT its the best angles that do

Dec 24, 2017 - by Steve Gerweck

“A great example is if you ask what was the best match of WrestleMania 3. Most people would say Savage/Steamboat. But it was Hogan/Andre because 93,000 people paid to see Hogan/Andre. The best match isn’t about ‘working’ or ‘taking the best bumps’, it’s the match that draws the most people and makes the most money. That’s the best match.”–Al Snow

How does Al know that Hogan/Andre was what people came to see when he wasn’t anywhere near being a part of WWE in 1987?

@Billy, you have a point. when WrestleMania 3 was being hyped, I was just as excited over the Steamboat/Savage match as I was with Hogan/Andre.

in my case, I watched the show because of both feuds.

I have said this a few times before in regards to Wrestlemania 3. While Hogan/Andre SOLD the show, Savage/Steamboat STOLE the show. If my memory is correct wasn’t Savage/Steamboat the semi main event at Wrestlemania 3. Also, both matches had a lot of build-up to them as well, like about 3-4 months worth.
