Graham on Reigns: “EGOMANIAC”

Dec 6, 2017 - by Steve Gerweck

“Superstar” Billy Graham posted the following via Facebook:

EGOMANIAC

That is the only word I can think of to describe Roman Reigns
in an interview he did last night on the new WWE Network’s
Straight to the Source with Corey Graves. This egomaniac
Roman Reigns gave the following lofty self assessment of,
“You know I’m the best performer in-ring in the world right now.”

He went on to say he is WWE’s top guy every day of the week.
This guy is so full of bull sh*t, I can smell him all the 3,000 miles
away here in the desert of Phoenix, Arizona. I want to know what this guy has been smoking for real, pot maybe? He always looks half stoned and in a semi-comatose condition anyway, photo below.

One fan has written in response to Reigns, “the chicks dig him” Oh god man come on, just because the chicks dig you does that mean you are over? This guy is so full of himself he makes me sick. This is your future fans, you got to live with this 2nd Rock who thinks he is a god, Good luck.

I actually agree with Superstar BG here.

Can’t really disagree with Graham though.

    Keep ranting, old man.

Said it before, and I’ll say it again. Roman Reigns is a K-mart Kevin Nash. Reigns isn’t the tope anything. The only reason The Shield was reunited was so the WWE could try and salvage their investment in Reigns. Ambrose was over as a solo. Rollins was over as a solo. Reigns was a total and complete flop as a solo worker, no matter how many times the WWE tried to put him in high profile spots.

    Yeah, have to agree here.
Although I only half agree with DJ’s point on Rollins and Ambrose. Yes they were both over but they weren’t over as main eventers, they’d been brought down a peg or two to upper midcarders at the expense of Reigns. Because nobody’s allowed to be more over than Reigns dammit.

In the initial Shield run, Dean looked like the guy who’d go furthest, yet he was the last of the three to win a World title, and by the time he did it was an underwhelming run. He didn’t get to main event Summerslam because they’d then brought in the Universal title, which they now seem to value against the older World title. He was never the face of SD in the draft because Cena and Styles are bigger stars, and then by the time Ambrose was drafted to Raw he’d slipped down to IC title level.

As for Rollins, I love the guy, but things just didn’t seem the same since he came back from his first injury. The feud with Balor could have been good if Finn didn’t get injured, but after that Rollins was stuck playing second fiddle to KO and Jericho.
Thankfully Rollins did get that Mania feud with Triple H which was much needed closure for the character and the fans. The short programme with Samoa Joe after that was okay, but then Rollins got stuck in a holding pattern where he lost to Bray Wyatt on PPV. Who does that?

By the time Rollins and Ambrose teamed up, they really needed each other as they’d been treading water for months. I really hope they capitalise on the momentum these two get from a Shield reunion when the time comes for them to go their separate ways again.

The bottom line is that Ambrose and Rollins are the far better talents but I genuinely feel that Vince has held them back at the expense of trying to get Reigns over. Rollins, in particular, could be the top guy to take the place of Cena, but the way things are going, we may never know.

  6. Totally agree with everything you said Danny Cause. Rollins without a doubt could have and should have been the top guy when he returned from injury last year. He never should have been a heel, he should have been face as the crowd absolutely loved him. Once they realized he was heel, they just didn’t care. Reigns not being turned heel has hurt him and Rollins. Had they done that feud but Rollins was the face, you could have created 2 top guys. The new Orton & Cena, or Edge & Cena from a decade ago.

Ambrose is definitely being held back, if they let him loose, the guy would be cutting brilliant promos all the time and I feel he has to be better in ring wise than what he see most of the time.

I don’t have an issue with Roman, just use him right but Vince’s obsession with him being the top face has hurt his company and will continue to do so as Reigns will be in the WM main event again defeating Lesnar for the title. Had you turned Reigns heel a long time ago, the fans would have warmed up to him like they have with many wrestlers who’ve turned heel after a bland face run. The Rock, New Day, Usos and so much more have hugely benefited from turning heel. Why can’t they do it with Roman? And why hold other people back? You’re just hurting your own company. It literally doesn’t make sense.
