4/26/17 NXT Coverage

We see the NXT opening video and then go into the NXT Arena at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida where Tom Phillips, Percy Watson, and Nigel McGuinness welcome us to the show.

Nikki Cross is in the ring. She crawls out of the ring and calls out Ruby Riot. Ruby makes her way into the ring and they stare down. Nikki laughs and charges at Ruby, but Ruby takes her down. They brawl down on the mat and then spill to the outside. Nikki slams Ruby into the ring apron and then the steel steps. Referees make their way down, but Nikki takes Ruby down with a cross-body. They get separated, but Nikki gets free and takes Ruby down again. Ruby comes back and they brawl on the floor before the referees and security guards are finally able to keep them apart.

We join the announce crew, and Phillips reminds us of tonight’s main event: Tyler Bate vs. Jack Gallagher for the WWE United Kingdom Championship. We then take a look back at Hideo Itami’s return last week, where he laid Bobby Roode out with a Go To Sleep. We see Roode backstage. Roode says last week was a cowardly attack by Itami. Roode says this is his NXT and if Itami wants to get into the ring and challenge him, he can. Roode says Itami will have to earn the glorious opportunity at the NXT Championship.

Match #1: Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Drew McIntyre
Almas ducks under McIntyre and poses down on the mat. Almas shoves McIntyre away, but McIntyre grabs him around the throat and tosses him into the ropes. Almas holds on and poses, but McIntyre kicks him to the outside. McIntyre tosses Almas back into the ring, but Almas rolls to the floor again. McIntyre follows and delivers a big chop. McIntyre grabs Almas, but Almas counters and slams McIntyre face-first into the steel steps. Almas tosses McIntyre back into the ring and slaps him across the chest in the corner. Almas grabs McIntyre and drops him with a clothesline. Almas goes for the cover, but McIntyre kicks out at one. Almas takes McIntyre to the corner and chokes him with his boot and then slaps him across the face. Almas goes for another slap, but McIntyre blocks him and backs him into the corner. McIntyre delivers a series of right hands and then splashes Almas in the corner. McIntyre takes Almas down with a clothesline from the top rope. McIntyre picks Almas up, but Almas gets free. Almas and McIntyre exchange chops and then McIntyre drops him with a power slam. McIntyre drops Almas with a big boot and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Drew McItyre.

We join William Regal backstage. He says Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot will go one-on-one later tonight. We are then reminded that Tyler Bate will defeated the WWE United Kingdom Championship against Jack Gallagher later tonight. We then see that we will take a special look at Roderick Strong after the break.

Back from the break, we see “Who is Roderick Strong: Part 1.” We then see that we will see Part 2 next week.

Match #2: Kona Reeves vs. Aleister Black
Reeves charges and backs Black into the corner. Black comes right back with rights and lefts and a couple quick kicks. Reeves gets a cheap shot on Black and delivers some clubbing shots to his back. Black turns it around and connects with kicks and strikes and then drops Reeves with a big kick. Black sits down in the ring and then drops him with Black Mass and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Aleister Black.

We see Ruby Riot backstage. She says she has kept clashing with Nikki Cross because SAnitY says they rebel against the norm. She says she could relate to that, but the problem is that SAnitY wants everyone to conform to their ways. Ruby says Nikki found out when she is pushed, she pushes back. She says she will get Nikki out of her way and it’s time to start a riot.

We see Andrade “Cien” Almas leaving the arena in a suit and getting into an SUV with some women as Kayla Braxton is trying to ask him about his match earlier tonight. He brushes her off and leaves.

Match #3: Ruby Riot vs. Nikki Cross
Before the match, Nikki jumps Ruby on the entrance ramp. Nikki back Ruby into the ring apron and then slams her into the stage. Ruby comes back and slams Nikki into the stage and then suplexes her onto the entrance ramp. Ruby delivers a few more right hands, but Nikki comes back and slams Ruby into the stage again. Nikki delivers a few forearm shots, but Ruby battles back as more referees and security run out to separate them. Ruby takes Nikki down with a cross-body from the stage. Referees and security are finally able to separate Ruby and Nikki and carry Nikki backstage.

We see that Tyler Bate and Jack Gallagher will do battle after the break. We see Asuka in William Regal’s office. He says on next week’s show, there will be a battle royal and the winner will become the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. Asuka scoffs and walks away.

Match #4: WWE United Kingdom Championship Match – Tyler Bate (c) vs. Jack Gallagher
Gallagher goes behind Bate, but Bate turns it into a wrist-lock. Gallagher reverses and applies a wrist-lock of his own. Bate kicks up and applies a headlock on Gallagher. Gallagher gets free and they tie up. Gallagher applies his own headlock and turns it into a Full Nelson. Bate gets free, but Gallagher takes him down with a single-leg take down. Gallagher applies a wrist-lock down on the mat and then turns it into an arm-bar. Gallagher goes for the cover, but Bate kicks out at two. Gallagher takes Bate down to the mat, but they exchange cover attempts. Gallagher sends Bate into the ropes, but Bate holds on and we have a stalemate as we head to a break.
Gallagher is still in control after the break and stomps down on Bate’s hand. Gallagher delivers a headbutt and the Gentleman’s Dropkick. Gallagher applies another wrist-lock and then turns it into the arm-bar again. Gallagher goes for the cover, but Bate kicks out at two. Gallagher applies the wrist-lock again, but Bate counters and they have a test of strength. Bate takes Gallagher down and goes for a few covers, but Gallagher kicks out at two each time. Bate flips Gallagher over and both men’s shoulders are down, but they both bridge up at two. Gallagher drops Bate with a couple dropkicks, but Bate counters with an uppercut. Bate takes Gallagher down with a German suplex and goes for the cover, but Gallagher kicks out at two. Bate kicks Gallagher up, but Gallagher counters with a wrist-lock submission. Bate gets free and drops Gallagher with a suplex. Bate goes for the cover, but Gallagher kicks out at two. Gallagher goes to the apron, but Bate knocks him to the floor with a right hand. Bate charges across the ring, but Gallagher counters with a headbutt. Gallagher delivers another headbutt and goes for the cover, but Bate kicks out at two. Gallagher delivers a couple uppercuts and then applies another wrist-lock to Bate. Bate comes back and takes Gallagher out with a heel kick and then drops him with the Tyler Driver ’97 and gets the pin fall.
Winner and still WWE United Kingdom Champion: Tyler Bate.
