Happy birthday to ROH’s Mandy Leon!!

1991 – Pegasus Kid defeats Villano III, to win the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship.

1997 – In the Monday Night Wars, WCW Monday Nitro (3.4 TV rating) beats WWF Monday Night RAW (1.9 rating, one of the lowest the show had recorded at the time).  On RAW, Davey Boy Smith defeats Owen Hart, in a tournament final, to become the inaugural WWF European Champion.

2005 – On this evening’s SmackDown, Orlando Jordan defeats John Cena, to win the WWE United States Championship.

2007 – At Ring of Honor’s Fifth Year Festival: Liverpool, Naruki Doi & Shingo defeat The Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark), to win the ROH World Tag Team Championship.

2008 – It is announced that Mae Young is the latest inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2008.

2009 – Kane defeats The Boogeyman, on this evening’s ECW on Sci Fi;  one day later The Boogeyman would be released by WWE.

2011 – On this evening’s Impact!, Sting defeats Jeff Hardy, to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

2012 – At the Women Superstars Uncensored 5th Anniversary Show, Jana & Luscious Latasha defeat Tina San Antonio & Lexxus, to win the WSU Tag Team Championship.  Jana & Latasha would then defend, and lose the titles, to Allysin Kay & Sassy Stephie.  In a Title vs Title Match, Jessica Havok defeats Mercedes Martinez, to retain the WSU Spirit Championship AND win Martinez’s WSU Championship.

2014 – It is announced that Paul Bearer is the latest inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2014.

2014 – On Monday Night RAW, The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) win the WWE Tag Team Championship, after defeating The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg & Billy Gunn).  It’s the first tag team title win, as members of the main WWE  roster, for The Usos.  They had one title reign, in WWE’s developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling, winning FCW Florida Tag Team Championship in March 2010.  The video below is the title match against The Outlaws.

Also, one week after being chokeslammed through a table by The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar takes his anger out on Mark Henry, delivering an F5 sending Henry through the announce table.  The crowd in Chicago chants for CM Punk afterwards;  it was announced two weeks earlier that Punk would be taking a “sabbatical” from WWE.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO: current ROH wrestler & current Keystone Pro Wrestling (KPW) Vixen Champion Mandy Leon (25 years old);  former ROH World Tag Team Champion Hanson (33 years old);  IWA-MS wrestler Jack Thriller (35 years old);  former Lucha Underground Trios Champion (as PJ Black) & 3-time WWE Tag Team Champion Justin Gabriel (36 years old);  and former Canada independent wrestler Glenn Kulka (53 years old).
