NXT Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament Set

On the December 7, 2016 edition of NXT, General Manager William Regal announced a #1 Contender’s Tournament to determine the next challenger for the NXT Championship, which is currently held by Shinsuke Nakamura. The winner of the tournament will receive their title match at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio on Saturday, Janaury 28, 2017.

The four qualifying matches will take place on the December 14, 2016 edition of NXT and they are:

Tye Dillinger vs. Eric Young
Oney Lorcan vs. Bobby Roode
Elias Samson vs. Roderick Strong
Andrade Cien Almas vs. No Way Jose

The winners of the four qualifying matches will face off in a Fatal Four-Way Match on the December 21, 2016 edition of NXT.
