1958 – The Corsicans (Jean and Joe) defeat Don and Mike Gallagher, to win the NWA Mid-Southern Tag Team Championship.  Also, Tosh Togo defeats Dick Steinborn, to win the NWA Texas Heavyweight Championship.

1962 – Brute Bernard and Mike Paidousis defeat Fritz and Waldo Von Erich, to win the NWA American Tag Team Championship.

1980 – The Midnight Express defeats The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, to win the NWA Mid-America Tag Team Championship.

1982 – Paul Orndorff defeats Super Destroyer, to win the NWA National Heavyweight Championship.

1983 – Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood defeat Jack and Jerry Brisco, to win the NWA World Tag Team Championship.

1983 – Austin Idol defeats Stan Hansen, in a Bullrope Match, to win the AWA International Heavyweight Championship.  Also, The Bruiser Brothers (Troy Graham and Porkchop Cash) defeat Dutch Mantel and Koko Ware, to win the AWA Southern Tag Team Championship.  And Jerry Lawler defeats Jesse Ventura, to win the AWA Southern Heavyweight Championship for the 36th time.

1987 – The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobs and Jerry Sags) defeat The Rock ‘n’ Roll RPMs (Mike Davis and Tommy Lane) to win the AWA Southern Tag Team Championship.

1992 – The Moondogs win the USWA World Tag Team Championship, defeating Jerry Lawler in a Handicap Match.  Lawler did not have his partner, Jeff Jarrett, available to tag in.

1992 – On a tape delayed episode of WCW Saturday Night, Barry Windham and Dustin Rhodes defeat Terry Gordy and Steve Williams, to win the WCW and NWA World Tag Team Championships.  The match originally occurred on September 21st.

1994 – In a taping of SMW TV, Scotty Studd defeats Boo Bradley, to win the Smoky Mountain Wrestling Beat the Champ Television Championship.  Scotty would then lose the title to Bryant Anderson on the same night.  Scotty’s title win aired on TV on October 15th;  Anderson’s title win aired on October 29th.

At the same SMW TV tapings, The Gangstas (New Jack and Mustapha Saed) are awarded the SMW Tag Team Titles, after threatening a racial discrimination lawsuit.  The lawsuit involved a referee’s decision, to award a September 16th victory to The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express (Robert Gibson and Ricky Morton), in a tag team title match against The Gangstas.

1994 – Tommy Rich defeats Buddy Landel, to win the USWA Heavyweight Championship.

2004 – WWE No Mercy is held in East Rutherford, New Jersey in front of 10,000 fans.  The event was exclusive to the SmackDown brand.

-In a match that aired on Sunday Night Heat, Mark Jindrak defeats Scotty Too Hotty.

-Eddie Guerrero defeats Luther Reigns.

-Spike Dudley retains the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, defeating Nunzio.

-Billy Kidman defeats Paul London.

-Renee Dupree and Kenzo Suzuki retain the WWE Tag Team Championship, defeating Rey Mysterio and Rob Van Dam.

-Big Show defeats Kurt Angle.

-John Cena becomes the new United States Champion, defeating Booker T in the fifth match in a best-of-five series.

-In a six-person mixed tag team match, Charlie Haas, Rico, and Miss Jackie defeat The Dudley Boyz and Dawn Marie.

-In a Last Ride Match, John “Bradshaw” Layfield defeats The Undertaker, to retain the WWE Championship.

2008 – WWE Friday Night SmackDown begins airing on MyNetwork TV.  The first episode, specially titled SmackDown All-Star Kick-Off,  scores a 1.9 TV rating, down from the 2.4 rating for the final SmackDown on The CW a week earlier.  Among the highlights was a (non-title) Champion vs. Champion vs. Champion match;  Triple H (WWE Champion) defeats Chris Jericho (World Heavyweight Champion) and Matt Hardy (ECW Champion).  Also, in an eight-man tag team match, the team of Batista, Finlay, Jeff Hardy, and Rey Mysterio defeat the team of MVP, Kane, The Brian Kendrick, and John “Bradshaw” Layfield.

2015 – In Ohio Valley Wrestling, The Van Zandt Family Circus (Dapper Dan Van Zandt and The Ringmaster) defeat Wylde and Reckless (Robbie Walker and Adam Wylde), to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO:  Former WWE / TNA talent and NWA Florida X Division and Tag Team Champion Mikey Batts (33 years old), WWE Hall of Famer “Bullet” Bob Armstrong (77 years old), former WWE RAW General Manager Mike Adamle (67 years old), former 2-time Continental Wrestling Association Heavyweight Champion and 2-time Tag Team champion Darryl Peterson aka Man Mountain Rock and Maxx Payne (55 years old), and 2-time WWE Tag Team Champion Danny Basham (39 years old).

And finally, happy birthday to 5-time WWE Tag Team Champion, 3-time Intercontinental Champion, and 1-time ECW Champion John Morrison, known before that as Johnny Nitro (39 years old).
