My nine year old was searched on entry by a security team I could only describe it as airport-like. The arena was only half full for the beginning as there were literally at least a thousand people held up at security. No bags were allowed in so all the women were outside going nuts and being told it’s the promoter, not the arena rules.

There was a corny Triple H intro video to start off the show. The crowd chanted NXT really loud and there were loud wooooooo’s.

1. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady beat Blake and Murphy. Blake and Murphy received quite a lot boos. The atmosphere was hot with way more crowd interaction than any WWE Raw live event I’ve been to. Big Cass and Enzo were huge crowd favourites (how you doing chants). Cass is gonna kill you chants are really popular and they score the win great match.

2. Bull Dempsey beat Tye Dillinger. Tye was the crowd favourite with a decent pop. Great match with lots of comedy including bull shoving Tye’s perfect ten card down his pants then into his mouth. Bull won easy with his finisher. The crowd continues to be very interactive.

3. Samoa Joe beat Apollo Crews. Joe got a huge pop and won a great match with lots of near falls. Again, a real crowd pleaser.

4. Bayley defeated Emma (w/Dana Brooke) to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. Huge pyro for Bayley, way more than a normal house show. Emma completely dominated the match, but Bayley kept the title with a win heading into London. Great match crowd. I loved every second, especially Dana being ejected from ringside.

Intermission. Every TLC advertisement received loud boos, which was so funny.

After a 15-minute break, William Regal came out and thanked the fans for turning NXT from 50 fans to the 5,000 here tonight. Huge pop for Regal .

5. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder beat Chad Gable and Jason Jordan to retain the NXT Tag Titles. There was loud chanting for Gable and Jordan. Mid match, an intruder ran in the ring towards Gable, but he was apprehended before he could do anything. Security ejected the fan from the ringside to loud applause (it is worrying to see how easy he skipped past security to get in the ring). I genuinely thought Jordan was going to throw a punch at the fan. Dash rolled up Gable after interference from Wilder. Jordan and Gable stayed out after match and soak up applause great match again.

6. Asuka beat Carmella. Huge applause for both, but Asuka got the biggest pop. Asura won via submission. All hugs at the end. I’d say the show is running at least 20 mins late at this point, as it was advertised as a 9.50 p.m. finish and we are still awaiting main event two minutes before the scheduled finish time.

7. Finn Balor beat Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin in a Triple Threat to retain the NXT Championship. Corbin was booed, Zayn got the biggest pop of night by far, and Balor got a huge pop. Balor won another great match. What a night. Forget Raw and Smackdown, this is the place to be. 10/10. Great show. After the match, Balor and Zayn danced together to close the show.
