Backstage Talk on The Rock and WWE SummerSlam, Chyna – Triple H Incident at Roddy Piper’s Funeral
– Regarding the incident between Triple H and Chyna last week at Roddy Piper’s funeral, Dave Meltzer noted on the Wrestling Observer message board that it wasn’t really a confrontation inside the funeral. As Triple H was leaving, Chyna approached him outside and apologized for what’s happened in the past. Apparently she said just one sentence to him and the impression given was that Triple H told people in WWE that the whole thing lasted no more than 20 seconds. Triple H reportedly immediately thought that Chyna was having someone secretly film him for her documentary when she walked up.
Meltzer also noted that the story Chyna is telling about passing up the WWE Title for Playboy is not true. He said, “It’s pure fantasy.”
– Regarding speculation on The Rock appearing at WWE SummerSlam this weekend due to a tease Roman Reigns dropped last week, Meltzer noted today that there were rumblings of The Rock making an appearance before Reigns even made the mention during a radio interview last week. This doesn’t mean Rock will be there but it’s likely at least been discussed by WWE officials. We noted before that if WWE was planning on bringing The Rock in for SummerSlam, few people would know besides Rock, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Vince McMahon.
