1992 – At the Boston Garden in Massachusetts, The Ultimate Warrior defeated Sid Justice (Vicious) via DQ in less than 5 minutes.  This would be Sid’s last WWF appearance for well over 2 years. Due to controversy regarding a drug test, Sid walked out of the company, less than a month after headlining Wrestlemania against Hulk Hogan

1999 – The Monday Night War continued: WWF Monday Night Raw defeated WCW Monday Nitro: 6.0 to 3.9 in the ratings

2005 – Steve Austin appeared on MTV’s “Punk’d”

2010 – The 2nd Monday Night War continued: WWE Monday Night Raw defeated TNA Impact Wrestling: 3.1 to 0.50 in the ratings

2011 – Trish Stratus was named 2010 Businesswoman of the Year by Top Choice Magazine in Canada

2011 – Chris Jericho & Cheryl Burke were officially eliminated from ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”

Events

In 1994, AAA TripleMania II-A was held in Aguascalientes, Mexico. This was the first year to feature the ‘TripleMania Series’ of events, hosting 3 TripleMania events per year rather than 1. This lasted until 1997, when there were 2 events, before reverting to one for 1998:

– Rey Misterio, Rey Misterio Jr., & Winners defeated Los Destructores (Tony Arce, Vulcano, & Rocco Valente)
– Misterioso, Fuerza Guerrera, & Juventud Guerrera defeated Latin Lover, Volador, & El Mexicano

In 1998, WWF Unforgiven: In Your House was held at the Greensboro Coliseum, in Greensboro, North Carolina. With an attendance of 21,427. This was the 1st PPV to use the new ‘scratch’ logo in it’s promotional material – Wrestlemania XIV had used it on the ring apron, but all graphics featured the classic logo. This event also saw the debut of the Inferno & Evening Gown Matches:

– Ken Shamrock, Farooq, & Steve Blackman defeated The Nation of Domination (The Rock, Mark Henry, & D’Lo Brown) (with Kama Mustafa) in a 6-man tag team match
– Triple H defeated Owen Hart to retain the WWF European Title. Chyna suspended above the ring in a cage
– The New Midnight Express (Bodacious Bart & Bombastic Bob) (with Jim Cornette) defeated The Rock n Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) to retain the NWA Tag Team Titles
– Luna Vachon defeated Sable in an Evening Gown Match
– The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg & Billy Gunn) defeated LOD 2000 (Hawk & Animal) (with Sunny) to retain the WWF Tag Team Titles
– The Undertaker defeated Kane (with Paul Bearer) in an Inferno Match

In 2003, Ring of Honor’s Round Robin Challenge II was held at West CCAC Campus, in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. With an attendance of 400:

– The Second City Saints (Colt Cabana & Ace Steel) defeated Da Hit Squad (Monsta Mack & Dan Maff)

– Homicide (with Julious Smokes) defeated CM Punk to win the #1 Contender’s Trophy

In 2009, the 11th & final WWE Backlash was held at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center, in Providence, Rhode Island. Fittingly, the event was held in the same (albeit renamed) arena as the 1st one. With an attendance of 8,357:

Also at the taping, Earthquake defeated Yokozuna in a Sumo Match in which the ropes were taken down & the winner was the 1st wrestler to knock the other out of the ring

1995 – Bob Holly defeated Jeff Jarrett to win the WWF Intercontinental Title, but the title is immediately vacated due to the controversial finish of the match. Jarrett defeated Holly in the following rematch to win back the title

1998 – The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) defeated The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane) to win the NWA United States Tag Team Titles

1999 – on Nitro, Sting defeated Diamond Dallas Page to win the WCW World Title, but would lose it back to Page later in the show in a No-DQ Fatal Four Way Match also featuring Kevin Nash & Goldberg. Also, Rey Misterio Jr. defeated Psychosis to win the WCW Cruiserweight Title

2004 – Negro Casas defeated Averno to win the CMLL World Middleweight Title

2010 – on Raw, The Hart Dynasty (David Hart Smith & Tyson Kidd) (with Bret Hart & Natalya) defeated ShoMiz (The Big Show & The Miz) to win the WWE Unified Tag Team Titles
