Trivia

1995 – Mitsuharu Misawa won the AJPW Champion’s Carnival, defeated Akira Taue in the final after both men tied on 17 points

1996 – Brian Pillman was severely injured after falling asleep while driving his Hummer H1 in Kentucky & driving into a tree trunk, flipping the vehicle. He was in a coma for a week & suffered a shattered ankle, forcing doctors to fuse it together in a fixed position.

1996 – The Monday Night War continued: WWF Monday Night Raw defeated WCW Monday Nitro: 3.1 to 2.8 in the ratings

2000 – This year’s AJPW Champion’s Carnival reverted to an elimination tournament format. Kenta Kobashi defeated Takao Omori  in the final

2008 – WWE Hall of Famer (& the greatest in-ring wrestler of all time) Ric Flair was celebrated in a Congressional speech made in the House of Representatives by Rep. Sue Myrick of North Carolina, who spoke of Flair’s career & his importance to Charlotte

2010 – Beverly Mullins, who appeared briefly as ECW interviewer Courtney Taylor, was released from her WWE developmental deal. She had taken time off right after her TV debut & never returned to the main roster as Savannah ended up with her spot

In 1999, WCW held a live Thunder at Orlando Arena, in Orlando, Florida, which got a 3.2 rating on TBS:

In 2006,  All Pro Wrestling held the 4th ChickFight tournament at Kezar Pavilion, in San Francisco, California:

In 2007, TNA Lockdown was held at the Family Arena, in Saint Charles, Missouri. It was the 2nd TNA PPV held outside of Orlando, Florida (Bound For Glory 2006). As with all Lockdown events, all matches were held in a cage. This event was the final TNA PPV to use NWA Titles (the belts were used at the following event, but were referred to as TNA Titles. At the next event after that, there were new belts too):
