– NXT Tag Team Championship: The Lucha Dragons (c) vs. Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy

Blake and Murphy are coming off their upset win last week over the Vaudevillians and after showed a lot of moxie by challenging the Dragons to a title match and here we are with the gold on the line.

 

Blake and Sin Cara kicks things off. After some quick tags between the challengers, Murphy catches Sin Cara coming off the second rope with a dropkick. Sin Cara finds himself grounded with some chain wrestling and a ground attack from Blake. Blake misses a charge into the corner as Sin Cara ducks down, rolls him up with a schoolboy and transitions into a powerbomb.

 

Sin Cara makes the desperation tag to Kalisto and he wastes no time with his high flying offense as he hits Blake with a springboard Crossbody from the top, a springboard corkscrew followed by a back hand spring kick. This all happened in the blink of an eye which was amazing.

 

Callisto hits the sunset flip bomb on Blake, but the count is broken up by Wesley. Sin Cara clotheslines Wesley out of the ring and goes for a plancha over the top rope. Wesley moves out of position and Sin Cara sees this and makes the adjustment to land on his feet. Upon landing, Wesley grabs Sin Cara’s arm and sends him gut first into the ring apron.

 

Back in the ring, Kalisto pushes Blake into the ropes for a roll up, but Wesley makes the blind tag. Callisto hits Blake with the Salida del Sol, goes for the pin, but the referee waves it off as Blake pins an unsuspecting Kalisto for the 1-2-3. Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy are completely shocked and hug it out in the ring as the referee presents them with the tag team titles.

 

Winners: Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy are your new NXT Tag Team Champions

 

A video package is shown from last week’s Women’s Title match where Becky Lynch seemingly cost Sasha Banks the title by getting her disqualified. We also see Bayley give Charlotte a belly to belly suplex which prompts general manager William Regal to make a Fatal Four Way match between the ladies at NXT Takeover 2/11/15

 

Backstage: Bayley is putting on her boots in the locker room as Charlotte comes in and says she will destroy Bayley if she ever pulls a stunt like she did last week. At first, Bayley says she was sorry and that it was simply an instinct thing. Then she smiles and says she is not sorry and that she has been too nice.

She also says that she sees where Sami Zayn is at because he recently took a serious turn. Bayley tells Charlotte that they need to put things aside and get ready for their tag team match. Charlotte says things will work out because if Bayley crosses the line again, she will not make it to the Fatal Four Way.

 

Backstage: Tyler Breeze says he is not embarrassed after losing his tournament bout because he is still pretty and will sit back and watch how the rest of the tournament unfolds.

 

 

– #1 Contender’s NXT Title Tournament: Tyson Kidd vs. Adrian Neville

As Tyson Kidd made his way to the ring, another video distortion interruption from Solomon Crowe occurs. The bell rings and Kidd and Neville exchange waist locks, headlocks, and takedowns but neither man can gain the advantage. Kidd puts an end to the mat wrestling with a boot to the gut and slams Neville’s head into the turnbuckle. Tyson misses a charge into the corner as Neville goes up and over and flips to the other corner. Tyson misses coming in and Neville hits a running hurricanrana. Kidd is sent out of the ring, Neville goes for the dive, but changes course and hand springs on his feet as he sees the Kidd move out of position.

 

Kidd keeps jumping in and back out of the ring in order to break up the referee’s count. Neville gets tired of it and chases after Kidd, but is thrown into the guardrail for his troubles. Kidd baseball slides under the bottom rope and leg scissors Neville’s face into the steel steps. Kidd is insisting that the referee starts the count as he doesn’t care how he wins. Neville makes it back in by the count of nine, Kidd covers him immediately, but Neville grabs the ropes after the one count.

 

[Commercial break]

 

We come back to a snap mare and a vicious kick to the back from Kidd as he locks up Neville in a rear chinlock. Neville comes back with a sunset flip, but Kidd rolls through and lands a short dropkick. Neville rallies as he clotheslines Kidd out of the ring and wipes out Kidd with a spinning dive over the top rope. Back in the ring, Neville delivers a standing shooting star press for a two count.

 

Neville goes for a suplex, but Kidd reverses it and hangs him out to dry on the top rope and follows up with a spinning neck breaker for a close near fall. Kidd goes for a German suplex, but Neville rolls through and lands on his feet to hit Kidd with a sit down power bomb. Neville goes outside to the apron and Kidd dropkicks him into the guardrail. Kidd throws him back into the ring for a close near fall. Kidd gets caught with a kick charging into the corner and is laid out in perfect position for the Red Arrow which Neville hits and gets the win.

 

Winner: Adrian Neville

 

Neville does a post-match interview where he is asked about meeting the winner of Baron Corbin and Bull Dempsey. Neville says there are big guys, but it is all about getting hit and getting straight back up. Neville is on a mission to prove he is the greatest NXT champion of all time.

 

Backstage: Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch are asked if they can get along tonight considering they will face each other in the Fatal Four Way. Banks says they will win tonight just like they always do and Becky will do the right thing at Takeover. Banks leaves and Lynch says “Yeah, I will do the right thing and walk out of Takeover Women’s champion.”

 

Backstage: Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy are ecstatic after their title win and say, just come knocking and they will defend the belts against anyone.

 

 

– Charlotte and Bayley vs. Sasha Banks and Becky Lunch:

The match opens as Bayley and Banks as they lock up, but Bayley knocks her down for a quick cover. Bayley springboards off the second rope and takes over Banks with an arm drag. Bayley goes for it again, but slips on the rope and Banks clocks her with an elbow to gain control.

 

Lynch tags in clubs Bayley with forearm shots. Banks tags in, bear hugs Bayley and pushes her into the corner and Charlotte tags in. Charlotte rolls up Banks for a two count, and goes to chop her in the corner but Banks screams for her life and quickly tags in Lynch.

 

Lynch receives a few chops for her troubles followed by a knee drop and cover for a two count. Bayley tag in and drills Lynch with a clothesline. Banks grabs Bayley by the hair and hangs her out to dry on the rope as Lynch takes advantage and delivers three leg drops for a two count.

 

Banks and Lynch hit Bayley with a double elbow and Banks targets Bayley’s injured knee. Lynch tags in and kicks the knee until Bayley comes back with a suplex and tags in Charlotte. Banks tags in but it doesn’t matter. Charlotte keeps drilling Banks to the mat, delivers a neckbreaker and applies the figure four leg lock until Lynch breaks it up.

 

Banks hits Charlotte with Bankrupted, Bayley breaks it up and accidently hits Charlotte in the process. Bayley feels bad about it, but Charlotte pushes her. Bayley returns the favor as they starting trading blows. Banks and Lynch try to take advantage and the referee calls or the bell and the match is thrown out.

 

Backstage: Finn Bálor vs. Hideo Itami is announced for next week. Bálor says he knew it would come down to him and Itami, but didn’t think it would happen so soon. Itami interrupts and says he brought Bálor into NXT and if he has to, he will take him out.

 

Backstage: Emma is being interviewed and asked how she feels about returning to NXT. Emma says things didn’t work out as planned but she is back in NXT where it all began where it will be a fresh start for Emma and challenges Carmella to a match next week.

 

 

– #1 Contender’s NXT Title Tournament: Baron Corbin vs. Bull Dempsey

Corbin ducks the clothesline, sends Dempsey into the ropes, and drills him with a shoulder tackle. Dempsey goes outside the ring to regroup, but Corbin follows him and immediately gets him back into the ring. Dempsey takes control and throws Corbin into the corner.

Dempsey charges in but he is caught with a right hand. Corbin sends Dempsey into the corner and hits him with a splash. Corbin slips out of the ring and hits Dempsey in the face with an overhand right. Corbin gets back in the ring and hits the End of Days for the win.

 

Winner: Baron Corbin

 

Backstage: Baron Corbin says he is one-step closer to the NXT title and Adrian Neville is one-step closer to being erased. Bull Dempsey walks up behind him, stares him down and says Corbin got lucky twice and is out of his damn mind if he believes it will happen a third time. Dempsey says he will knock Corbin’s teeth down his throat, but Corbin grabs him by the mouth shoves him and leaves and the big Bull is none too pleased.

 

 

– Zayn vs. Owens Contact Signing:

William Regal is in the ring with the contract in hand, as he calls out Sami Zayn first followed by Kevin Owens. Regal declares that he is not going to allow this to break out into a fight like every other WWE contract signing. Regal says he will cancel the match if either one of them touches each other.

 

Zayn is asked to sign first and he does without a second’s hesitation. Owens just stares at Zayn as Regal slides him the contract. Zayn asks Owens he is going to get an answer as to why he turned on him. Owens continues to stare at Zayn without signing the contract.

 

Zayn asks if he is supposed to pretend that the last twelve years didn’t happen says “Let’s talk about the last twelve years. Zayn mentions how they started their careers together in Montréal and after fights with and against each other, he should have seen this coming but he didn’t.

 

Zayn says everything thing they did in their careers was about ending up in NXT and he never thought that Owens would stab him in the back when he finally arrived in NXT and he finally arrived as NXT champion. It’s a moot point now Zayn says because he is going to beat the hell out of Owens at Takeover.

 

Owens notices that the contract stipulates that their bout at Takeover is a non-title match. Owens says he fights for a prize and Sami Zayn isn’t it. Owens goes on to say the belt means more money and a better life for him and his family and will not sign on the dotted line until it becomes a title match.

 

Regal is upset and tells Owens he made it clear to him that this was going to be a non-title match. Zayn says Regal has to make this a championship match because he knows that Owens won’t do it otherwise. Regal shakes his head no and Zayn gets the fans to voice their approval for their match to be for the title.

 

Regal amends the contract in writing, Sayn puts his initials next to the changes on Owens signs the contract. Owens throws down the contract and throws the pen in Zayn’s face. Zayn is about go to after him, but Regal steps out in front of him and calms him down as Owens looks on from the ramp with a slight smirk on his face to end the show.
