1999 – ECW on TNN airs, including a controversial segments where Tammy Lynn Sytch (Sunny) was interview by an off-camera Paul Heyman.  During the interview, Sytch talked about women in the business using drugs in order to stay in shape, & discussed the death of Louie Spicolli due to soma use.  Sytch also talked about having a drinking problem before proclaiming that she was “back” at the end.  ECW received a great deal of criticism at the time for the segment


In 2005, the NWA 57th Anniversary Show was held in Nashville, Tennessee:

– Tommy Marr defeats JT Wolfen to win the NWA North American Heavyweight Title
– Rick Murdock defeats Conscience & The Juggulator in a Triple Threat Match to win the vacant NWA National Heavyweight Title
– Chris Escobar & Shane Falco defeat Daron Smythe & Tim Warcloud to win the NWA North American Tag Team Titles
– Christie Ricci defeats Lexie Fyfe & Tasha Symone in a Triple Threat Match to win the NWA Women’s Title
– The Naturals (Chase Stevens & Andy Douglas) defeat Cassidy Riley & Eric Young in a Nashville Street Fight to win the vacant NWA World Tag Team Titles

Also in 2005, NJPW Toukon Souzou New Chapter was held in Tokyo, Japan:

– Hirooki Goto & Minoru defeat Negro Casas & Felino to retain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles
– Manabu Nakanishi & Kendo Kashin defeat Charlie Haas & Mark Jindrak
– Matt Morgan defeats Yuji Nagata
– Black Tiger defeats Tiger Mask IV to retain the NWA Junior Heavyweight Title and win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title
– Shinsuke Nakamura & Hiroshi Tanahashi defeat Toshiaki Kawada & Yoji Anjoh
– Brock Lesnar defeats Kazuyuki Fujita & Masa Chono in a Triple Threat Match to win the IWGP Heavyweight Title

In 2006, WWE No Mercy was a Smackdown-exclusive event held at the RBC Center, in Raleigh, North Carolina. With an attendance of 9,000:

No Mercy:
– Mark Henry defeated Hurricane Helms
– Paul London & Brian Kendrick (with Ashley Massaro) defeated KC James & Idol Stevens (with Michelle McCool) to retain the WWE Tag Team Titles
– MVP defeated Marty Garner
– Mr. Kennedy defeated The Undertaker via DQ
– Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Chavo Guerrero Jr. (with Vickie Guerrero) in a Falls Count Anywhere Match
– King Booker (with Queen Sharmell) defeated Bobby Lashley, Batista & Finlay in a Fatal Four Way Match to retain the World Heavyweight Title

In 2012, NJPW King of Pro Wrestling was held in Tokyo, Japan:

Title Changes

1978 – Evelyn Stephens defeated The Fabulous Moolah to win the NWA Women’s Title. Current WWE Title Histories do not recognize this change

1990 – Jerry Lawler defeated Austin Idol in the final of a tournament to win the vacant USWA Unified World Heavyweight Title

1991 – The York Foundation (Richard Morton, Tommy Rich & Terrance Taylor) defeated Big Josh, Dustin Rhodes & Tom Zenk to win the WCW Six Man Tag Team Titles

2001 – on Raw, Steve Austin defeated Kurt Angle to win the WWF Title. This would be the final reign before the Undisputed Title was introduced. Also, The Hardy Boyz (Matt & Jeff) defeated Booker T & Test to win the WCW Tag Team Titles

2001 – Kendo Kashin defeated Masayuki Narase to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title

2007 – Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Yuji Nagata to win the IWGP Heavyweight Title

2012 – Mayback Taniguchi & KENTA defeated Magnus & Samoa Joe to win the GHC Tag Team Titles
