1965 – Bruno Sammartino’s WWWF title belt was stolen out of a locked car in New York City while Sammartino was eating in a restaurant following an event in Madison Square Garden.  The belt was never recovered

1994 – The 1-2-3 defeated a young Chris Kanyon during a WWF taping in Poughkeepsie, NY.  Kanyon would go on to make a name for himself in WCW before returning to WWE after the company purchased the remnants of World Championship Wrestling in March 2001

1999 – The Monday Night War continued: WWF Monday Night Raw defeated WCW Monday Nitro: 6.8 to 3.0 in the ratings

2001 – Maven & Nidia won WWF Tough Enough series 1

2012 – Raquel Diaz, real name Shaul Guerrero, the daughter of Eddie & Vickie Guerrero, was released from her WWE developmental deal. The word making the rounds in Florida at the time was that she requested the release.  Guerrero would return to WWE developmental about a year later


In 1936, the EMLL Third Anniversary Show was held in Mexico City:

– Maravilla Enmascarada defeated Bobby Pearce
– Pocho Aguirre defeated Ben Ali Mar Allah
– Chimuelo Campos defeated Jimmy el Apolo
– Chong Yip defeated Bobby Bonales

In 1998, WWF Breakdown: In Your House was held in Hamilton, Canada:

– Bradshaw defeated Vader in a Falls Count Anywhere Match
– The Rock defeated Ken Shamrock & Mankind in a Triple Threat Cage Match
– D-Generation X (Billy Gunn, Road Dogg & X-Pac) defeated Jeff Jarrett & Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury & Dennis Knight) in a 6-Man Tag Team Match
– The Undertaker & Kane defeated Steve Austin in a Triple Threat Match by double pinfall. As a result, Austin’s WWF Title is vacated

Title Changes

1977 – Porkchop Cash & Dr. X defeated The Medics (1 & 2) to win the TSW United States Tag Team Titles

1982 – The Rat Pack (Ted DiBiase & Matt Borne) defeated Junkyard Dog & Mr. Olympia to win the MSW Tag Team Titles

1985 – Brian Adias defeated Gino Hernandez to win the Texas Heavyweight Title

1986 – The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) defeated Eddie Gilbert & Sting to win the UWF Tag Team Titles

1993 – Razor Ramon defeated Rick Martel to win the vacant WWF Intercontinental Title

1994 – Norio Honaga defeated Pegasus Kid in the final of a tournament to win the vacant IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title

1995 – on Nitro, Harlem Heat (Booker T & Stevie Ray) defeated The American Males (Scotty Riggs & Marcus Bagwell) to win the WCW Tag Team Titles

2009 – Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Togi Makabe to win the vacant IWGP Heavyweight Title

2012 – Samoa Joe defeated Mr. Anderson to win the TNA Television Title
