1991 – Masahiro Chono won the NJPW G1 Climax Tournament, defeating Keiji Mutoh in the final

1997 – The Monday Night War continued: WCW Monday Nitro defeated WWF Monday Night Raw: 3.8 to 2.9 in the ratings

2002 – Masahiro Chono won the NJPW G1 Climax Tournament, defeating Yoshihiro Takayama in the final

2002 – the WWE Hardcore Title is passed from Tommy Dreamer to Shawn Stasiak, to Steven Richards, & back to Dreamer

2004 – Petey Williams defeated Amazing Red in the final of a Gauntlet for the Gold to win the TNA X-Division Title in Nashville, Tennessee

2008 – on Raw, Legacy (Ted DiBiase Jr & Cody Rhodes) defeated Batista & John Cena to win the World Tag Team Titles

In Memoriam

In 2011. former boxer turned professional wrestler Scott LeDoux, who worked for Verne Gagne’s AWA, passed away due to complications from ALS
