Daniel Bryan Still WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Likely Appearing at Sunday’s Payback PPV

- It was announced on tonight’s RAW that Daniel Bryan has one more chance to hand over the WWE World Heavyweight Title at Sunday’s Payback pay-per-view.

Before telling Stephanie McMahon no to handing over the title, Bryan told fans that his injury is more serious than originally thought. He said there is no shame in handing over the title and then healing to come back better than ever but decided against just handing it over.

Stephanie added that if Bryan doesn’t hand over the title at Payback, she will fire Brie Bella.

  1. Paul Andrew says:

At Payback on Sunday, Vince McMahon should come out and book a match between Stephanie and Brie with the stipulation that if Stephanie wins, Daniel Bryan has to surrender the WWE World Heavyweight Title, but if Brie wins, Bryan can keep the title until he returns to active competition. Yes, I understand that the World Title of a company needs to be defended regularly, however, realistically, the belts are just props anyway and the writers determine when someone wins or loses them, so why can’t an injured wrestler keep a title?

They did it with Trish Stratus. They did it with Gregory Helms & because of WWE S decision on those two they became one of the longest reigning champions in the company of this belts. Yes a world title is th e main attraction. But if he only needs a month off, then a month he shall have.
