WWE Extreme Rules Coverage: Triple Threat Elimination Match



We see the opening hype package for Extreme Rules, which focuses on the feuds between The Shield and Evolution, Kane and Daniel Bryan, and Bray Wyatt and John Cena. We go live into the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where Michael Cole welcomes us to Extreme Rules.


Triple Threat Elimination Match: Cesaro (w/Paul Heyman) vs. Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter) vs. Rob Van Dam

All three men go after each other, and then Cesaro and Swagger begin to team up to work over Van Dam. They send Van Dam to the corner, and then Cesaro and Swagger go after each other. Swagger powers Cesaro down to the mat, and Van Dam gets back to his feet. Van Dam kicks Swagger in the face and Swagger falls to the mat. Van Dam monkey flips Cesaro onto Swagger. Van Dam goes for the cover, but doesn’t get it. Van Dam goes for the cross-body from the ropes, but Cesaro catches him. Swagger takes Cesaro down to the mat and goes for the cover, but Cesaro kicks out at two. Cesaro goes to the outside as Swagger and Van Dam battle in the ring. Van Dam sends Swagger over the top and to the floor and then powerbombs Cesaro from the apron to the floor. Swagger gets to his feet and drops Van Dam with a clothesline on the outside. Swagger tosses Van Dam back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Van Dam kicks out at two. Swagger slams Van Dam down to the mat and goes for the cover again, but Van Dam kicks out at two. Van Dam rolls to the outside, but Swagger grabs him and pulls him back into the ring. Swagger slams Van Dam down to the mat and then connects with the Swagger Bomb and goes for the cover, but Van Dam kicks out at two. Cesaro gets back into the ring and knocks Swagger down and gets the Cesaro Swing going before Van Dam kicks Cesaro in the face. Van Dam goes for the cover, but Cesaro kicks out at two. Van Dam slams Cesaro down to the mat and goes up top, but Swagger stops him and tosses him down to the mat. Swagger grabs Van Dam’s ankle and locks in the Patriot Lock. Cesaro akes Swagger out with an uppercut. Cesaro gets Swagger on the ropes and slams him down to the mat. Van Dam comes off the ropes and hits the Five-Star Frog-Splash and eliminates Swagger.
Cesaro slams Van Dam down to the mat and goes for the cover, but Van Dam goes for the cover. Cesaro grabs Van Dam and delivers a German Suplex and goes for another cover, but Van Dam kicks out at two. Van Dam goes to the outside and Cesaro follows him. Cesaro slams Van Dam into the barricade and then gets on top of the barricade. Van Dam gets to his feet and kicks Cesaro down. Van Dam gets on the apron and delivers a leg-drop to Cesaro, who was draped over the barricade, and the crowd chants “ECW!” Van Dam and Cesaro get back into the ring and Van Dam connects with Rolling Thunder. Van Dam goes for the cover, but Cesaro kicks out at two. Van Dam connects with the split-leg moonsault and goes for the cover, but Cesaro kicks out at two again. Van Dam goes under the ring and grabs a trash can, but Cesaro dropkicks it into Van Dam’s face. Back in the ring go Van Dam, Cesaro, and the trash can. Van Dam kicks the trash can into Cesaro’s face and then places it on top of Cesaro’s chest and goes up top. Van Dam goes for the Five-Star, but Cesaro moves and Van Dam hits the trash can. Cesaro hits Van Dam with the Neutralizer on top of the trash can and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Cesaro.

We go backstage and we see Daniel Bryan with the trainer. Bryan is working out his arm when Stephanie McMahon walks in. Stephanie says she cannot control Kane and she is afraid for Daniel Bryan because he is going to get decimated and torn limb from limb by Kane. Stephanie says he doesn’t have to compete tonight and could surrender the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Bryan tells Stephanie to get out of his face, and says he is walking out of his match tonight as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Stephanie says Bryan will be walking out as Kane’s bitch and then walks away.

We see another Bo Dallas “Bo-lieve” vignette.

“The Ravishing Russian” Lana makes her way to the stage for the next contest.
