FIRST ANNUAL 30 WRESTLERS UNDER 30 TO WATCH

Welcome to the first edition of the GERWECK.NET 30 wrestlers under 30 to keep an eye on. We have collected input and data from a variety of individuals (promoters, referees, independent wrestlers, announcers, journalists, dedicated fans, etc.) in the know on untapped independent talent – wrestlers not currently under contract to World Wrestling Entertainment or Total Non Stop Action Wrestling. Here is our compiled list in no particular order.
1. Chase Owens
Owens, 24, 6’1″ 205 lbs. product of Bristol, Virgina. On October 7, 2011, Owens came up short vying for the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship, losing to Kevin Douglas in the tournament finals. However, Owens defeated Matt Conard and Zac Vincent in a tournament final on October 13, 2012 in Kingsport, Tennessee to capture the title. After dropping the title to Jason Kincaid, Owen regained it on October 18, 2013 in Houston, TX. Owens defeated Ricky Morton of Rock ‘n’ Roll Express fame on March 7, 2014, to claim his third NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship.
Owen tells us for his future, “My main goal is to make it to WWE which I think should be most peoples goal. But until then I’m going to continue to work hard and to carve my name even more into the NWA world junior heavyweight title history and become the greatest junior champion of all time.”
