Twenty six year old Johhny Gargano was trained by JT Lightning & Josh Prohibition, and has been active in the business since 2005. Gargano has made stops in Absolute Intense Wrestling, Dragon Gate USA, Evolve Wrestling, Chikara, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), and few looks by WWE and TNA and Ring of Honor. Gargano describes his wrestling style “Lucharesu”, a mix of British chain wrestling, lucha libre and puroresu and describes his character as “someone lacking self awareness and living in his own deluded little world”. On August 5, 2007, Gargano and Josh Prohibition defeated Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. Gargano lost television matches again MVP on Smackdown in 2007 and against Brodus Clay on Superstars in 2011, and appeared as a security guard on a 2010 edition of NXT.

Gargano wrestled in a dark match for Ring of Honor, defeating Sami Callihan on August 15, 2008. On June 24, 2009, Gargano wrestled in a dark match at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s Impact! television tapings, losing to Jay Lethal.

In 2012, he was apart of the WORLD-1 International stable in Dragon Gate along with Masato Yoshino, Naruki Doi, PAC, Rich Swann, Ricochet, and Syachihoko BOY.

Gargano was ranked #51 of the top 500 singles wrestlers in the PWI 500 in 2013.

Gargano has wins over Roderick Strong, Trent Barreta, Adam Cole, Paul London, and Kevin Steen.
