The show starts with a Wyatt Family promo. Bray calls himself evil and says he will defeat John Cena at Extreme Rules. The Shield come out, attack the Family, and demand a 3 vs 3 Street Fight match with them. Both groups were REALLY over.
The first match was Alberto Del Rio vs Dolph Ziggler. An awesome match, with lots of heat, classic spots, nearfalls, and amazing moves that you would never think they would do on an in televised show. Del Rio hit a brutal reverse suplex off the top turnbuckle, and the quickest and most smooth tilt-a-whirl Backbreaker I’ve ever seen. Ziggler wins with a ZigZag. Great stuff.
Next, Bad News Barrett makes his way to the ring, to a mixed reaction. He says he’ll win his match with Rob Van Dam on Monday’s Raw to win the Intercontinental Championship #1 Tournament, then goes for cheap heat on the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL.
The 2nd match is Rob Van Dam vs Bad News Barrett. Surprisingly, Van Dam wasn’t very over, despite many crowd members wearing RVD shirts. A decent match, but nothing spectacular. Barrett wins with the Bullhammer Elbow.
Next, Aksana comes out in referee gear. Justin Roberts says the next match; Nikki Bella vs Alicia Fox, is a Fan’s Choice match. The Dance-Off option lost 47% to the Singles Match option’s 53%. Needless to say, this wasn’t any good. There were “This is awful” chants mere seconds in. Aksana slow counted for Nikki, and fast counted for Fox. Nikki got the pin after hitting her Backbreaker finish. 2 thumbs waaaaay down. T
Next was Sin Cara vs Damien Sandow. Sandow demands to be cheered, and after calling the fans stupid in a Canadian accent (as well as ending sentences in “, eh!”), Sandow re-enters. Good stuff. Sin Cara starts with awesome fast-paced offense. These two worked very well together. The match ended in a disqualification when Kane interfered and attacked Sin Cara. Brad Maddox walked out and said that The Authority saw Kane going crazy coming, but gets attacked by Kane. Not long after, Big Show makes the save. Kane ends up on top, with a bad looking chokeslam. Kane got put over big time. This very well could have been the best match on the show if it weren’t for the finish and overbooked post-match.
Justin Roberts tells the fans that the show will be on a 15 minute intermission.
Right after intermission is Titus O’Neil vs Kofi Kingston. Kofi got a nice pop. Really average match. Kofi wins with the Trouble in Paradise.
Next is Alexander Rusev (with Lana) vs Zack Ryder. Ryder got a good pop, but Lana & Rusev didn’t get much heat. I thought this would go MUCH shorter than it did, but it got a good amount of time. It was still pretty one-sided, though. Rusev beats Ryder with the Camel Clutch.
Main event time! The Shield vs The Wyatt Family in a 3 on 3 Street Fight match. The Shield got a huge reaction, but the Wyatt Family didn’t get much. This leads me to believe the crowd was just burnt out, since they were really over at the start of the show. However, there was a huge “Let’s go Wyatts/Let’s go Shield” chant towards the end. Kendo sticks and suicide dives are getting really stale. Decent match, your average Smackdown main event. Roman Reigns’ Spear and the Global Smash Powerbomb were REALLY big with the crowd. Erick Rowan eats the pin after the GSP through a table to end the show.
