1995 – Mitsuharu Misawa wins the AJPW Champion’s Carnival, defeated Akira Taue in the final after both men tied on 17 points

1996 – Brian Pillman was severely injured after falling asleep while driving his Hummer H1 in Kentucky & driving into a tree trunk, flipping the vehicle. He was in a coma for a week and suffered a shattered ankle, forcing doctors to fuse it together in a fixed position.

1996 – The Monday Night War continued: WWF Monday Night Raw defeated WCW Monday Nitro: 3.1 to 2.8 in the ratings

2000 – This year’s AJPW Champion’s Carnival reverted to an elimination tournament format. Kenta Kobashi defeated Takao Omori  in the final

2008 – WWE Hall of Famer (& the greatest in-ring wrestler of all time) Ric Flair was celebrated in a Congressional speech made in the House of Representatives by Rep. Sue Myrick of North Carolina, who spoke of Flair’s career & his importance to Charlotte

2010 – Beverly Mullins, who appeared briefly as ECW interviewer Courtney Taylor, was released from her WWE developmental deal. She had taken time off right after her TV debut and never returned to the main roster as Savannah ended up with her spot

In 1999, WCW held a live Thunder at Orlando Arena, in Orlando, Florida, which got a 3.2 rating on TBS:

– Buff Bagwell defeated Vampiro
– Jerry Flynn & Wrath fought to a double-countout
– Meng defeated Horace
– Raven & Saturn defeated Disorderly Conduct (Mean Mike & Tough Tom)
– WCW World Cruiserweight Champion Rey Misterio, Jr. defeated Juventud Guerrera to retain the title
– WCW World Heavyweight Champion Diamond Dallas Page (with Kimberly) defeated Stevie Ray (with Vincent) to retain the title title

In 2006,  All Pro Wrestling held the 4th ChickFight tournament at Kezar Pavilion, in San Francisco, California:

First round:

– Cheerleader Melissa defeated Rain
– Mercedes Martinez defeated Carla

In 2007, TNA Lockdown was held at the Family Arena, in Saint Charles, Missouri. It was the 2nd TNA PPV held outside of Orlando, Florida (Bound For Glory 2006). As with all Lockdown events, all matches were held in a cage. This event was the final TNA PPV to use NWA Titles (the belts were used at the following event, but were referred to as TNA Titles. At the next event after that, there were new belts too):

– Chris Sabin defeated Jay Letha (with Kevin Nash)l, Sonjay Dutt, Alex Shelley, & Shark Boy in an Xscape Match to retain the TNA X-Division Title
– Robert Roode (with Ms. Brooks & Eric Young) defeated Petey Williams
– Senshi defeated Austin Starr with Bob Backlund as special guest referee
– Gail Kim defeated Jackie Moore
– James Storm defeated Chris Harris in a Blindfold Match
– Christopher Daniels defeated Jerry Lynn
– Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) defeated The LAX (Homicide & Hernandez) in an Electrified Cage Match to win the NWA Tag Team Titles
– Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Rhino, Sting, & Jeff Jarrett) defeated Team Cage (Christian Cage, AJ Styles, Scott Steiner, Abyss, & Tomko) (with James Mitchell) in a Lethal Lockdown Match

– Samoa Joe & Magnus defeat The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) to retain the TNA Tag Team Titles
– Devon defeats Robbie E (with Robbie T) to retain the TNA Television Title
– Gail Kim defeated Velvet Sky to retain the TNA Knockouts Title
– Crimson defeated Matt Morgan
– Jeff Hardy defeated Kurt Angle
– Eric Young & ODB defeated Mexican America (Sarita & Rosita) to retain the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Titles

1960 – Fred Blassie defeated Dick Gunkel (subbing for Ray Gunkel) to win the Georgia NWA Southern Heavyweight Title in Atlanta, Georgia

1963 – NWA World Heavyweight Champion Lou Thesz defeated “Jersey” Joe Walcott in the 5th round of a wrestler vs. boxer match

1974 – Jerry Lawler defeated Tommy Gilbert to win the NWA Southern Junior Heavyweight Title in Memphis, Tennessee

1975 – Mariko Akagi & Mach Fumiake defeated Lola Garcia & Rena Manani to win the WWWA World Tag Team Title in Fukui, Japan

1977 – Bruiser Brody & Mike York defeated Jose Lothario & Cien Caras to win the Texas Tag Team Titles

1983 – Jerry Blackwell defeated Kerry Von Erich to win the NWA Missouri Heavyweight Title in St. Louis, Missouri

1983 – Adrian Adonis defeated Bob Sweetan to win the Southwest Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Title in Austin, Texas

1985 – Takashi Ishikawa & Akio Sato defeated Animal Hamaguchi & Masanobu Kurisu to win the vacant AJPW All Asia Tag Team Titles

1989 – Invader I defeated Abdullah the Butcher to win the WWC North American Heavyweight Title in San Juan, Puerto Rico

1995 – The Sandman defeated Shane Douglas to win the ECW World Title

1995 – Rey Misterio, Jr., Super Muñeco, & Octagon defeated Tony Arce, Rocco Valente, & Vulcano to win the Mexican National Trios Title in Mexico City, Mexico

2001 – Mitsuharu Misawa defeated Yoshihiro Takayama in the final of a tournament to become the first GHC Heavyweight Champion

2002 – on Raw, the WWF Hardcore Title 24/7 Rule sees the belt pass from Bubba Ray Dudley to Raven, to Tommy Dreamer, to Steven Richards, & back to Bubba Ray

2007 – El Diamante defeated Lightning to win the IWA Intercontinental Heavyweight Title in Isabela, Puerto Rico

2008 – on Impact, Eric Young & Kaz defeated AJ Styles & Tomko to win the TNA Tag Team Titles. Also, Petey Williams defeated Jay Lethal to win the TNA X-Division Title
