1994 – Jesse Ventura was awarded $809,958 in video tape royalties & $8,625 in merchandising royalties by a St. Paul, Minnesota court stemming from a lawsuit against the WWF. Ventura had argued he wasn’t compensated for the use of his likeness in 90 WWF home videos when other performers, such as Hulk Hogan, André the Giant, Mr. T, & Cyndi Lauper, had been. Ventura had also never signed any contract indemnifying the WWF from paying him for his commentary work

2011 – Yuji Nagata wins the AJPW Champion’s Carnival, defeating Seiya Sanada in the final

In 1990, The U.S./Japan Wrestling Summit was held at the Tokyo Dome, in Tokyo, Japan. This was a joint event featuring talent from All Japan & the WWF. With an attendance of 53,742:

– Doug Furnas, Dan Kroffat (Phil LaFon), & Joe Malenko defeated Samson Fuyuki, Toshiaki Kawada & Tatsumi Kitihara
– Jushin Liger defeated Akira Nogami

In 1997, ECW held it’s 1st ever PPV Barely Legal at the ECW Arena, in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania. With an attendance of 1,170:

– The Eliminators (Perry Saturn & John Kronus) defeated The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray & D-Von) (with Sign Guy Dudley & Joel Gertner) to win the ECW Tag Team Titles
– Rob Van Dam defeated Lance Storm
– The Great Sasuke, Gran Hamada, & Masato Yakushiji defeated BWO Japan (Dick Togo, Taka Michinoku, & Terry Boy)
– Shane Douglas (Francine) defeated Pitbull #2 to retain the ECW Television Title
– Taz (with Bill Alfonso) defeated Sabu
– Terry Funk defeated The Sandman & Stevie Richards (with The Blue Meanie, Hollywood Nova, 911, & Thomas Rodman) in a 3-Way Dance
– Terry Funk defeated Raven to win the ECW World Title

Also in 2002, WWA The Eruption was held at the Rod Laver Arena, in Melbourne, Australia:

– AJ Styles defeated Nova to reach the final of the WWA Cruiserweight Title Tournament
– Jerry Lynn defeated Chuck E. Chaos to reach the final of the WWA Cruiserweight Title Tournament
– Grandmaster Sexay & The Cat (Ernest Miller) defeated Buff Bagwell & Stevie Ray
– Allan Funk defeated Pierre Ouellet
– AJ Styles defeated Jerry Lynn to win the vacant WWA International Cruiserweight Title
– Sabu defeated Devon Storm in a Cage Match
– Midajah defeated Queen Bea in an Evening Gown Match
– Scott Steiner (with Midajah) defeated Nathan Jones, with Sid Vicious as special guest enforcer to win the WWA Heavyweight Title

In 2007, New Japan Pro Wrestling held an untitled PPV in Osaka, Japan:

– Manabu Nakanishi defeated Orlando Jordan
– Jado & Gedo defeated Masaaki Mochizuki & Yasushi Kanda to retain the Dragon Gate International Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles
– Minoru defeated Ryusuke Taguchi to retain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title
– Giant Bernard & Travis Tomko defeated Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Shiro Koshinaka to retain the IWGP Tag Team Titles

In 2008, TNA Lockdown was held at the Tsongas Arena, in Lowell, Massachusetts. As with all Lockdown events during this time, all matches were held in a cage. With an attendance of 5,500:

– Jay Lethal defeated Johnny Devine, Shark Boy, Sonjay Dutt, Curry Man & Consequences Creed in an Xscape Match to retain the TNA X-Division Title

– BG James defeated Kip James
– Kaz & Super Eric defeated The Latin American Xchange (Homicide & Hernandez), Petey Williams & Scott Steiner, The Rock ‘n Rave Infection (Lance Hoyt & Jimmy Rave), and The Motor City Machine Guns in a 6 team Cuffed in the Cage match
– Gail Kim & ODB defeated Awesome Kong & Raisha Saeed (Cheerleader Melissa)
– Booker T & Sharmell defeated Robert Roode Roode & Payton Banks in an intergender tag team cage match
– Team Cage (Christian Cage (captain), Kevin Nash, Rhino, Sting & Matt Morgan) defeated Team Tomko (Tomko (captain), AJ Styles, Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) & James Storm (with Jackie Moore) in a Lethal Lockdown Match
– Samoa Joe defeated Kurt Angle in a Title vs Career Match to win the TNA World Title. If Joe had lost, he would have had to retire

In 2009, the WWE held is WWE Draft live on Monday Night Raw at the Philips Arena, in Atlanta Georgia. It was held over 2 days with the supplemental draft being held 2 days later on 4/15 on WWE.com. With the following draft picks being made.

1931 – Ed ‘Strangler’ Lewis defeated Ed Don George to win the World Heavyweight Title

1960 – Hard Boiled Haggerty & Butcher Vachon defeated Lord James Blears & Herb Freeman to win the NWA Hawaii Tag Team Title in Honolulu, Hawaii

1963 – Kay Noble defeated Kathy Starr to win the vacant AWA World Women’s Title in St. Paul, Minnesota

1971 – Jack & Jerry Brisco defeated Dory Funk, Jr. & Terry Funk to win the NWA Florida Tag Team Title in Tampa, Florida

1977 – Bruiser Brody defeated Fritz von Erich to win the WCCW American Heavyweight Title

1977 – Roddy Piper defeated Chavo Guerrero to win the NWA World Light Heavyweight Title.

1980 – Ole Anderson defeated Killer Karl Kox to win the NWA Southeastern Heavyweight Title in Knoxville, Tennessee

1983 – Ted DiBiase & Mr. Olympia defeated Tiger Conway Jr & Mr Wrestling II to win the MSW Tag Team Titles

1992 – Lauren Davenport defeated Miss Texas (Jacqueline Moore) to win the USWA Women’s Title

1994 – Diesel defeated Razor Ramon to win the WWF Intercontinental Title

1995 – Bobby Blaze defeated Killer Kyle to win the SMW Television Title. He would be the last champion before the promotion closed, though the title had been abandoned months before

1996 – Jesse James Armstrong wins a Battle Royal to become the 1st USWA Television Champion

2000 – Taz defeated Mike Awesome to win the ECW World Title

2001 – Bruce Hart defeated Principal Richard Pound to win the Stampede North American Heavyweight Title in Calgary, Alberta

2001 – Steve Corino defeated Rodney Begnaud (Rodney Mack) to win the vacant NWA North American Heavyweight Title in North Richland Hills, Texas. The title had been vacated when Mike Rapada won the NWA World Heavyweight Title in September

2002 – The WWF Hardcore Title 24/7 Rule sees the belt pass from Bubba Ray Dudley to William Regal, to Spike Dudley, to Goldust & back to Bubba

2002 – Carly Colon defeated Vampiro to win the  WWC Universal Heavyweight Title in Fajardo, Puerto Rico

2005 – Matt Morgan defeated Elijah Burke to win the OVW Heavyweight Title in Louisville, Kentucky

2013- At the SHIMMER Volume 57 taping. Kellie Skater & Tomoka Nakagawa defeated Nicole Matthews & Portia Perez to win the SHIMMER Tag Team Titles
