This is a recap of OVW TV Episode 759 that will be aired in Louisville on 3/2 and is available online at http://www.ovwrestling.com/tv/759
This week, we begin with a clip of a match from the 3/1 Saturday Night Special between the Marauders (only Shiloh Jonze, Raul Lamotta, & Nick Dumeyer as Tony Gunn and Clint Poe were suspended) and Flash Flanagan & OUR OVW Director of Operations Trailer Park Trash in an anything goes street fight! Weapons galore are used as TPT takes some powder to the face, which leaves Flash to get triple-teamed for a bit. We move ahead to later, where ref Jordan Barker is face down in the ring and TPT returns to play Whack-A-Marauder with his kendo stick. We then see TPT come off the top to legdrop Dumeyer through a table and cover him. OVW Official Joe Wheeler runs out and counts TPT’s pin before celebrating with TPT and Flash.
After the show opening, we join OUR OVW Announce Team of Dean Hill, Gilbert Corsey, and Michael Titus along with OUR OVW Ring announcer Shannon the Dude. Among the items on tonight’s menu are: Body Guy in a dress, an update on Michael (not PS) Hayes, new tag champs, a new ladies champ, the masked man who has been clubbing knees will be revealed, and Jamin Olivencia is hunting down Timmy Danger! It is also emphasized that April’s Saturday Night Special will be held on Sunday 4/6 at 5PM ET due to a schedule conflict.
Match #1: Shiloh Jonze (w/Tony Gunn, Raul Lamotta, & Nick Dumeyer) vs “Primetime” Robbie Walker
Josh Ashcraft is OUR OVW official for this match and it should also be noted that the refs are in all black tonight. Jonze is not a happy camper after what happened at SNS and takes out his frustrations on Walker in between taking time out to yell at his fellow Marauders. Walker gets a few body blows in but Jonze hot shots him on the top rope. Jonze can’t quite get Walker through the ropes, so he kind of leaves him tangled in them and continues beating until getting him free via a swinging neckbreaker. Jonze breaks out a mandible claw and makes Walker submit!
Gunn disposes of Walker properly by tossing him to the floor. Ashcraft walks to the curtain and is confronted by OUR OVW Senior Official “Package” Chris Sharpe but Ashcraft just ignores him and keeps walking.
Gilbert is at ringside with the four Marauders and questions them about being more twisted than normal. Jonze says the Marauders are suffering from rot, decaying from the inside. He also says there are too many chiefs and not enough Indians, pointing out that Gunn stepped on his toes in creating the stipulations for the match at SNS that they ended up losing. Jonze says that Gunn can redeem himself by bringing the TV title to the Marauders later on tonight when he takes on OUR OVW TV Champion Mr. Marvelous Melvin Maximus! Jonze tells Gunn he’d better get this done OR ELSE!!
Pat McAfee is again shown in the crowd.
OUR OVW Tag Team Champions “The Justin Bieber of Professional Wrestling” Dylan Bostic & “Mexicutioner” Roberto DeLuna come out. Bostic is pushing a wheelchair that has a one-legged doll strapped in. Gilbert calls their attacks on Michael Hayes at SNS “disgusting”. Bostic says when he and DeLuna won the tag titles at SNS, they won them with honor and decency. He then says they brought out “Hayes” (pointing to the doll) and tries to get “him” to dance before “he” just gets tossed aside. Bostic says Hayes will be OK and mentions that IHOP is hiring, adding that Hayes would be qualified for that! This brings out the real Hayes along with Mohamed Ali Vaez, who is carrying a ball bat. Gilbert asks Hayes about retirement but Hayes brushes that off and says that he is still standing and still fighting. He adds that Bostic and DeLuna have never seen what decency is like and when he heals, he will be their worst nightmare! Vaez says that there is no honor in jumping Hayes before the match, no honor in Bostic and DeLuna beating him in a 2-on-1 match, and no honor in attacking Hayes again after the match. Vaez thanks Gilbert and Dean for stepping in where he couldn’t (referring to the second attack where Gilbert and Dean ran into the ring and shielded Hayes from further beatings) then apologizes to Hayes for not getting the job done. Hayes says no one blames him. Vaez then says he wants Hayes to heal so in 30 days they can get a rematch and if Hayes can’t go, he will take them on himself.
Adam Revolver comes out and has something to get off his chest. He says that during his and Ted McNaler’s feud with Hayes and Vaez, they might have lied and cheated but they never tried to hurt Hayes. Revolver offers to team with Vaez at SNS if Hayes can’t go. Vaez respectfully declines this offer and he and Hayes depart. Revolver and Gilbert have an animated discussion as we go to break.
We see a clip from the ladies title match between Lei’d Tapa and Jessie Belle. Tapa has Jessie up in a fireman’s carry but she lets her drop as the masked person comes out and stares them down. Meanwhile, Jessie removes her knee brace and pulls a chain from her boot. Jessie clocks Tapa in the back of the head and covers her for the pin to become OUR OVW Ladies Champion!
We see a shot of cleavage that pulls back to reveal Jessie with Stephon J Baxter III in the back after the match. Baxter notes that Jessie’s knee has miraculously healed. Jessie says she might look like a bimbo but she outsmarted everybody and now she is the ladies champ! Baxter asks about her alliance with “Triple R Superstar” Randy Royal (who was the masked man all along), to which she says Royal is a gun for hire. She’ll use him if she needs him and if not, she’ll fire him since it’s all about Jessie Belle! (As it should be:)
Match #2: “Triple R Superstar” Randy Royal vs Leon Shelly
The new ref from last week is in charge here. Gilbert mentions that Baxter is the newest member of OUR OVW Broadcast Team! Royal chops away then pulls away from Shelly’s sunset flip try and drops an elbow. It is discussed that Royal did the masked guy thing for Jessie because he needed the money (so I guess he still has those medical bills). Royal clubs away but misses an elbow drop, so Shelly dropkicks him to the corner. Royal boots Shelly in the ribs and sets up a neckbreaker but instead strikes him in the back and stands on him for the pin.
Dean and Gilbert are still taken aback by Jessie’s actions but Titus is proud of her.
“Career Killer” Timmy Danger and OUR OVW Champion “Strongest Gamer Alive” Marcus Anthony come out as Dean notes that Danger got involved in the title match at SNS. Danger’s Very Important Thing To Say this week is that no matter what fans yell or what cheap t-shirts they wear, Anthony is still the champ! He says today (though he also said March 5th) is “Victory Day” as they never have to worry about Jamin Olivencia again. Danger recaps that Jamin was champ, lost the belt, got one rematch that he won by DQ, weaseled his way to becoming number one contender again, and lost that match fair and square. Dangers says that Jamin will have to work his way back up the ladder, pointing out that there are much better contenders like “Party Starter” Bud Dwight (!), and Gilbert (?). Sharpe comes out and starts yelling at Danger, calling him “a piece of monkey crap” then warning him not to ever involve his family in this again! We learn that during the title match at SNS, Ashcraft came out and informed Sharpe that he had a family emergency, so he replaced Sharpe in the match. Sharpe can’t get any answers from Ashcraft but is reasonably certain that Danger orchestrated all of this. Sharpe yells during all this and is ready to punch Danger, who interrupts and asks Sharpe to please not yell at him as he has a horrible anxiety disorder. Sharpe says there was no emergency but all Danger knows is that Anthony is still the champ. Danger decides to sic Anthony on Sharpe but Jamin Olivencia runs out and chases Danger around a bit. Danger pulls Anthony in front of him as a shield and Jamin and Anthony get nose-to-nose. Jamin takes the mic and says the facts were that he had Anthony beat and would have done so if not for that meddling Danger! Jamin then has a clip from SNS shown where he hits a top rope Standing O on Anthony then it cuts to Jamin rolling Anthony back into the ring. Jamin tries to get back in but Danger holds his leg and Ashcraft counts him out. Back to the show, a “Jamin got screwed” chant breaks out. Jamin says that OUR OVW Owner “Nightmare” Danny Davis saw this footage and will come on TV next week to make a special match for SNS! Jamin says he will beat Anthony for the title and break Danger’s face!
Match #3: “Unmasked Marauder” Tony Gunn vs OUR OVW TV Champion Mr. Marvelous Melvin Maximus
Marauders come through the curtain with Gunn but then leave. Wheeler is the ref in this match. Gunn punches and kicks away but can’t pull Melvin down so he continues with his assault. Melvin lariats Gunn and tries a bearhug but he slips away under the ropes. Gunn pulls Melvin out by the feet and rams him into the apron before rolling him back in and covering for 2. Melvin grabs another bearhug but Gunn elbows free and chopblocks him. Gunn covers but can only hold hold Melvin down for 2. Gunn complains to Wheeler about his counting and Melvin schoolboys him for 2 as it is noted that Wheeler is counting at the same pace for both men. Melvin blocks a Gunn suplex try and throws one of his own then powerslams Gunn and locks him in the deadly bearhug (although Gunn’s feet appear to be on the mat) and forces a tapout.
Jonze appears through the curtain and yells at Gunn. According to the announcers, he was challenging Gunn.
“Pastor of Disaster” Rev. Stuart Miles makes an appearance followed by altar boy “Cameron”. He greets the sinners then says his good word for the evening is “holy”. He sees plenty of “holy” people in the crowd, referencing holes between the gaps of their teeth or where moths have eaten holes in their Goodwill clothes! He says the only thing “holy” about Dean is that place on his head where his hair used to be! Miles goes on to say that he is more concerned about the holes in people’s hearts because he sees the OVW superstars they cheer for, for instance, a man who plays “devil’s music” Ryan Howe, or a man obsessed with self-vanity, Melvin Maximus, or a “murderer”, Michael Hayes, or a man filled with envy, Jamin Olivencia! Miles points out that cleansing has already been done on the one they cheer for the most, the most disgusting one of all, Paredyse, whom Miles says is gone forever. He says OVW now has a chance to be a true paradise and leaves us with “Peace be with you.”
Match #4: “The Teflon Don from Boca Raton” Eddie F Diamond vs The Body Guy
Sharpe is the ref here as Gilbert tries to guess what color dress Body Guy is wearing. Dean suggests they bring in Joan Rivers to give her assessment of it (lol). After Body Guy’s music starts a second time, he pokes his head through the curtain to reveal that he is wearing pigtails! He gets shoved through the curtain by Melvin to reveal a purple and black tiger striped dress as Gilbert tries to guess the designer. Body Guy also has like a lime green ribbon around his neck in a bow. Diamond gooses him as the bell rings. Body Guy waistlocks but Diamond reaches over and pulls up the dress, exposing Body Guy’s leg. Body Guy gives out a boot to the ribs and some punches but gets reverse whipped into the corner and takes some punches from Diamond, who then pulls up the dress all the way to much laughter from everyone. (Fortunately, Body Guy did have trunks on underneath and not like a thong or anything.) Body Guy shoves Diamond down and drops a fist before removing his ribbon and choking him with it. Body Guy whiffs on an elbow drop and Diamond pulls him into a crossface. Melvin, who is still at ringside, leads the fans in a “tap” chant and Body Guy eventually does.
Body Guy has to wear the dress for at least another week (or until he wins again) and there was much rejoicing among the people. Well, all the people except for Body Guy, who stands in the ring as the show goes off.
THOUGHTS: Will Jonze completely lose it and start having matches with each of his fellow Marauders to teach them a lesson? Will Revolver now interject himself into the tag team feud whehter he is wanted or not? Is Jessie Belle’s first title defense against anyone other than Ray Lynn? Olivencia vs Anthony just seems more of the same and I believe Jamin has recently had a match where if he wins, he would get time with Danger. It will be interesting to see what Davis decides to do with Danger here. I’m wondering if we will see a “cleansed” version of Paredyse appearing soon. It won’t happen, but I would love to see Joan Rivers catch Body Guy coming through the curtain and asking him, “Who are you wearing?” Overall this was rather enjoyable so I’ll give it a thumbs up.
