WWE Issues Statement on DISH Network Not Carrying the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View

- WWE issued the following statement this evening in regards to DISH Network and the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view:

“WWE is pleased that the majority of our cable and satellite Pay-Per-View distributors are giving our fans an option to purchase traditional Pay-Per-Views as we prepare to launch WWE Network on Monday, February 24. Unfortunately, DISH will not be doing so. We hope DISH will reconsider for this Sunday’s Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View event and especially for WrestleMania 30.”

Well, WWE brought this situation upon itself by offering all its PPVs through the WWE Network. Are they stupid enough to think that, given the choice, anyone buying a wrestling pay-per-view is going to buy the program through a pay-TV provider, when they’re getting a better deal by signing up for WWE’s video service? When you try to compete with your business partners by offering through a cheaper method someone your partner offers for more money, of course people are gonna end up going more for your method than dealing with the more expensive option.
