– There is a lot of talk within WWE that Christian isn’t expected to stick around once his current contract expires. At age 40, there’s a feeling that WWE creative isn’t going to do anything significant with Christian and he’s just “playing out the string.”

He’ll be TNA champ within 6 months!

  2. Nick A says:

How is a WWE Network exclusive event a pay-per-view?

  3. Andrew Davis says:

I guess they mean b.c you have to pay for the network. Which using that thinking, Raw, Smackdown, Impact etc. are all ppvs. As you have to pay for cable to watch them.

  4. Will Henderson says:

@Nick A, WWE Network is basically WWE’s version of iPPV as it has both live and on demand stuff.

  5. Really? says:

@Will – you would have to pay extra for an NXT show, and they are putting it head to head with a free episode of Impact? Best of luck to them.

  6. The Realist says:

Calling something a version of “IPPV” is kind of stupid. Since an IPPV is nothing more than A PPV on the internet.

the WWE Network is by terms a “streaming service”, the same thing Netflix or Amazon Prime or Hulu+ are, the essential modern upgrade to the library or the video store. You pay to have access to what they have to show at the present time.

A PPV is a program ordered via a television provider, as something they have (and often for a limited time) that you pay and extra fee to see often on top of what you pay to the provider in general.

  7. Drew says:

Christian may be leaving? :( Not looking forward to all the Cena/Orton/Batista/Sheamus main events. Thank God there’s still Daniel Bryan!

  8. Your welcome says:

They mean PPV as in “One big show on which stories will be settled etc” not as in “you must pay specifically for this event”. It’s just the term used to describe non-weekly TV events. It shouldn’t be that difficult to understand…

  9. Nick A says:

The Realist, I guess definitions are hard for some people.
