Japanese star announces his retirement

Wataru Inoue appeared at today’s Korakuen Hall show and announced that he will be official retiring from pro-wresting.

A special commemorative match will be held on April 3 at the Korakuen Hall in his honor. Inoue suffered a cervical disc herniation back on March 3, 2013 and was also diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in his right shoulder after an examination with medical staff. Inoue has been struggling with the injury for the last several months in particular as no definitive cure had been found. Due to this Inoue has decided to announce his formal retirement from active competition. Though he announced his intentions to remain on under a staff position for New Japan Pro Wrestling in the future.
